Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha Markle has revealed that she is going to be suing the Duchess.
Samantha Markle Wants To Sue Meghan Markle For Her Comments In The Book ‘Finding Freedom’
This is reportedly in response to certain claims which were made in a book that had apparently been authorised by Meghan herself.
The book in question was entitled ‘Finding Freedom,’ which detailed the couple’s marriage and their experience in exiting the Royal family.
This book has been a major source of contention of late, given that Meghan had denied authorising the publication of the book. However, a recent Court of Appeal decision proved otherwise, which forced Meghan to come out and issue a public apology.
It is not exactly clear what comments Samantha disapproved of, but the very fact that Meghan had allegedly spoken about her without permission was enough to get Samantha angry. She wants to sue for ‘defamation, libel, slander and invasion of privacy.’
During an interview with Sunday People, Samantha said: “I’m speaking to one lawyer in England and one in the US as there are different statutory windows and different issues.”
There is clearly a lot of anger between the two sisters. After all, they have not met each other since 2016 when it came to light that Meghan was hooked up with Harry.
In addition, Samantha is not exactly in the best of health, given that she does suffer from Multiple Sclerosis (MS). This can lead to several problems with cognitive functions, including visual issues and walking.
Therefore, this lawsuit is not going to make things any easier on her health. And yet, Samantha feels she has no choice but to go ahead with it all to show the truth.
She added: “She [Meghan] wanted to make us look estranged and separated to discredit us as that was an excuse to keep everybody away from the wedding. It shows she’s manipulative.”
The lawsuit is still in the very early stages, given that Samantha is seeking legal advice. As such, there is no guarantee that it could go ahead. In any event, things could be settled outside of court too. We will have to see how things will play out.
