Queen Elizabeth II has been urged to walk away from her Royal duties following recent concerns over her health.
Queen Elizabeth II Urged To Walk Away From Her Royal Duties After Her Health Concerns-‘It May Be Time’
The Queen, for her part, is 95-years old and therefore not going to be getting any younger. And the fears over her health increased over the weekend when she missed the Remembrance Sunday service.
This service is designed to honour all those who had lost their lives during the war. Therefore, missing such an event is not a decision to be taken lightly.
In an official statement at the time, the Royals said: “The Queen, having sprained her back, has decided this morning with great regret that she will not be able to attend today’s Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cenotaph.”
It is not clear whether this is going to be a theme going forward in light of the fact that there has been increasing speculation that Prince William will take over most of the Royal duties.
This is why several high-profile people have come out and urged the Queen to consider whether it is wise that she continues in the same capacity. Piers Morgan questioned whether the media was being honest over the Queen’s state of health.
In a post to his followers on Twitter, he said: “There’s something we’re not being told about the Queen’s health. It’s clearly a more serious situation than the Palace is saying.”
Much in the same way, Editor Duncan Larcombe has also cast doubt on whether it is feasible to expect the Queen to continue in her role.
Although such a decision could have implications given that somebody would have to step in immediately, in this case Prince Charles, the fact of the matter is that he is not very popular. Having said that, though, something has to give.
In an interview on Good Morning Britain, Duncan stated: “Some people are beginning to think perhaps it may be time to consider the unthinkable. What will happen?
“Are we really doing the Queen the best thing if we’re asking her at the age of 95 to keep going, keep going, keep going until she dies? Of course not.”
