Michael Flynn, who happened to be a former national security advisor for Donald Trump, has faced backlash after he called for the imposition of a one-world religion.

The United States prides itself on the first amendment, with people having a right to freedom of expression. This includes the right to have their own political beliefs.
And yet, Michael sought to advocate something which would be anything but that. Michael was speaking as part of ‘The ReAwaken America Tour.’
And during this event, there was some high-profile support in the form of entrepreneur Mike Lindall. During a speech, Michael emphasised the importance of trying to rally people behind God through the message of the Bible.
He said: “If we are going to have one nation under God, which we must, we have to have one religion. One nation under God and one religion under God, right. All of us together, working together.”
Nevertheless, many people had a lot to say about this matter. People began to express their concerns on Twitter over whether this message was in line with the democratic ideals of the United States.
After all, it presented a curb on the freedom of expression as any other doctrine such as atheism would naturally be discarded.
One user wrote: “This is literally what the Founding Fathers were trying to prevent when they included the First Amendment to the US constitution. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the US is not Gilead.”
While another stated: “The First Amendment to the Constitution protects free speech and establishes a wall between church and state.
“It has been vital to the survival, success and safety of Jews and all other minorities in America. Christianity is not one nation under God. It’s segregation.”
There is clearly a lot of emotion being expressed from both sides over this issue. Michael’s comments came as a result of the increasing divisions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has alienated people among many different backgrounds.
