Meghan Markle has spoken about what her life was like prior to entering the Royal family, and by the looks of it, she has plenty of stories to tell.
Meghan Markle Opens Up On Her Earlier Acting Days-‘The Things We Do’
Meghan, for her part, was not exactly a household name prior to her marrying Prince Harry. While she was an actress within the United States, most famously for her role on ‘Suits,’ she was not setting the world on fire with her performances.
And so it showed, given the lifestyle that she was living during her early days of acting. In an appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ Meghan spoke on how she drove a malfunctioning car.
She said: “The key stopped working on the driver’s side, so you couldn’t get yourself in through the door. So after auditions, I would park in the back of the parking lot.
“I would open the trunk, climb in, pull it shut behind me and crawl over all of my seats.” And as a way to avoid that embarrassment, she had to get very creative over what she would say or do if people were looking at what she was doing.
After all, the first impression on an audition is very crucial. Therefore, the last thing that people want to see is somebody crawling into the boot of their car in order to drive it. But when she did so, Meghan had the perfect excuse.
She added: “I’d be like, ‘Oh, I’m just looking for my resume, my highlighters for my script. Oh, maybe it’s back there?’ And I’d crawl all the way in and close it. The things we do.”
Meghan has come a long way from those earlier days. There is increasing speculation that she and Harry could become billionaires at some point in the future. Their projects so far show that this would be the case.
Take, for example, Harry’s reported 100 million dollar deal with Netflix. And yet, this interview has shown that Meghan has not forgotten her roots.
