We’re in for some feeling out between friends turned rivals and the possible end of some relationships in what looks like a normal day in Genoa City.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Thursday, December 9: Tessa and Mariah grow further apart
The seed planted with Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) returning will continue to grow as he and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will begin working on a new project.
This will frustrate an already struggling Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) as her insecurities will begin to grow and she’ll end up pushing Tessa away and into an old-turned-new relationship.
This will take a few months for things to reach the breaking point, but another fun couple will be destroyed to recapture past glory. Or as an excuse to torment an already damaged character.
After a year of dealing with an overly drawn out Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) storyline, we’re prepared for the same with Mariah.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Thursday, December 9: Challenge laid out
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is well known for pitting his children against each other to compete, and then asking for them to forgive and love one another after hostility destroys their relationship.
In this case, ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers think he’s going to challenge Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) to work together to destroy Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
The Newman Boogeyman has outlived his usefulness to Victor, but we have doubts his children will be willing to work together on this.
Adam wants to end the war by utterly destroying Billy, but he doesn’t want to psychologically crush him. Victoria wants to protect him since it’s okay with everyone in Genoa City for them to attack Billy.
On the other hand, this could be an interesting plot development if Adam decides to let Victoria have the lead in purchasing Chance Comm.
This will be between them since Victor would have an aneurism if he heard talk like that.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Thursday, December 9: Lily keeps up appearances
Whether it’s before of after her conversation with Victor and Adam, Victoria will cross paths with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and the two will exchange pleasantries.
Since she knows what’s going on with both sides for the most part, Lily will play her role that Billy’s hurting while trying to pretend he’s not.
But more than that, this will be a fun scene between friends turned rivals as they begin to take their companies and the show into a new era.
