It’s no surprise any more that Kim Kardashian, media personality, model and businesswoman who has been recognized for her indisputable fashion prowess was going to receive the Fashion Icon award at this year’s People’s Choice Awards. What was a surprise to many was when Kim thanked soon to be ex-husband Kanye West, aka Ye, in a loud and public fashion! Could there be any chance of Kim and Kanye getting back together and repairing their broken marriage?

The 41-year-old Kardashian made a splendid appearance to prove that this Award was truly well deserved. She was dressed in an all-black Balenciaga outfit-resembling the popular look she had for the 2021 Met Gala, she paired her outfit with sunglasses-which was also black. She was in a turtleneck, a mini dress and also matching pants.

Her award was presented to her by the former Fashion Icon award winner, Tracee Ellis Ross. Kim then proceeded to give her speech, she began by showing appreciation to Tracee, “To be receiving this award from a fashion icon herself, Tracee, I am so honored.”
Kim continued, “I am so humbled to be here. I mean, I started off as a closet organizer and a stylist. So, the fact that I am winning a Fashion Icon Award, it’s like a pinch-me moment.”

Also, in giving her speech, Kim pointed out her soon to be ex-husband, Ye (formerly known as Kanye West). She stated that she was grateful for his influence. The duo was previously married for 6 years until she filed for divorce in February. She said that designers are now willing to work with her when there was a time it was not so.
She made a subtle joke about how Kanye’s call to some of them might have been why they decided to work with her. “Thank you, Kanye, for really introducing me to the world of fashion. I fell in love with fashion and I’m so inspired by many people. It is like a dream to wake up and wear these amazing clothes.”
Kim has been very successful in the Fashion industry, as she’s the owner of SKIMS-a brand that provides comfortable under wears, lounge wears and pajamas. Also the owner of KKW Beauty, a high flying cosmetic brand, and other fashion & beauty brands.
