Things really seem to be coming to a head as Kim Kardashian has filed to legally divorce Kanye West on Friday, a day after attending his December 9 show.
Kim Kardashian Moves Forward and Without Kanye West
According to TMZ, Kardashian’s divorce lawyer Laura Wasser is looking to have child custody and property business decided legally as she moves on in life with her new relationship with Pete Davidson. She is also looking to have her legal last name reverted back to “Kardashian”.

The reason why Wasser was selected for the task is because of her experience in handling the specific issues of divorces separately. While it can take time to handle the whole thing, deciding to handle some issues in the immediate and opting to tackle other parts of the process later is possible.
That’s why Kim is looking to be declared legally divorced now and to deal with the issue of her last name while everything else can cook at its own pace.
Midway Through the End of Kimye
Early in the year, divorce procedures began as Kardashian filed in February. A few months later, it was decided that they would pursue joint custody and that spousal support was unnecessary. So, while already bought out their mansion in Hidden Hills, there is still business involving other properties and whatever other holdings they have together.
During the year, both parties discussed their relationship from different perspectives. Also, Kim has been seen at several events with Kanye leading to rumors that they could be working through the things.
As we got to towards the end of the year, developments in the burgeoning relationship between Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson ran right alongside the dissolution of Kimye.

Prior to Kim filing for status divorce was Kanye’s December 9 Free Larry Hoover concert which she attended with their kids North and Saint. At the concert, Kanye attempted to woo Kim back by adding on to his 2010 song “Runaway” with “I need you to run right back to me …more specifically Kimberly”.
It was an ad-lib some have pointed out as sweet whereas others have likened it to public proposals that make the other party uncomfortable and obligated to answer. Of course, Kim hasn’t publicly expressed her feelings on ad-lib to the song from My Dark Twisted Fantasy.
Oftentimes, divorces are messy and celebrity divorces tend to be messy and public. This one wasn’t so much messy as one side appears to be moving on healthily while the other side is taking a “stages of grieving” approach.
It’s hard to determine how close we are to the legal end of things but this appears to be a chapter in both Kim and Ye’s lives that will go on for a while.
