Jeff Cobb is finally back in Japan after taking a quick trip to the United States. Having had a nearly perfect run through the G1 Climax, many hoped he’d be with Great-O-Khan to do the same in World Tag League, but instead Aaron Henare got a chance to shine. However tonight on the finals night, he’s back with O-Khan – with the dangerous duo of SANADA & Tetsuya Naito ready for a fight.
The A-Team Of United Empire Is Back, But Tetsuya Naito Won’t Be Denied
After Naito took his time taking off his suit, playing mind games with the United Empire before he and SANADA rushed them down. SANADA & O-Khan took the ring, with SANADA nailing the basement dropkick before dragging O-Khan around the ring by his braid. O-Khan was put in the Paradise Lock, with the braid yanked as well, before SANADA kicked O-Khan free.
With O-Khan up, he’d apply the Sheep Killer. On the outside, Cobb had beaten down Naito and was riding him like a surfboard. SANADA was taken outside and tossed into the barricade. Back in the ring, Cobb would tag in and brutalize SANADA, handingly him like a toddler before driving him into the corner.
SANADA would almost have to kiss the boot of O-Khan, before firing off some big chops and tagging Naito. Cobb & Naito would clash, with Naito being driven from corner to corner with a powerslam. O-Khan wanted to tap Naito out with the help of Cobb, but SANADA made the save. Naito would get a big hurricanrana for a shock win.
Cobb wanted the post match Tour of The Islands but couldn’t catch Naito. We’d see Cobb chase after Naito, attacking him into the backstage area – but cameras lost the action.
Kazuchika Okada & Shingo Takagi Are Ready For Tokyo Dome
On January 4th, Kazuchika Okada will challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Shingo Takagi is ready to do everything in his power to stop this from happening however. Tonight, The Dragon meets The Rainmaker, with BUSHI & Robbie Eagles on hand to make this a tag team match. Any win over Shingo in 2021 is huge, but Okada will be doing his best to get as much information from Shingo ahead of Tokyo Dome.
BUSHI & Robbie Eagles’ job here was to cancel each other out and let the big boys play here. Okada & Shingo would kick this one off, giving the fans just what they want – with Shingo taking Okada to the mat with a headlock takeover, with Okada breaking free using headscissors. A knuckle lock showed Shingo as more powerbomb, but Okada wrestled to get control.
The wrist lock would punish the arm of Shingo, until he nailed a back elbow strike. They’d finally give BUSHI & Eagles a chance to shine, and BUSHI would choke Eagles with his shirt. Shingo would tag in and nail a suplex on Eagles – before taking a hurricanrana. Okada got the tag and nailed the DDT on Shingo, and turned Noshigami into the Money Clip attempt.
BUSHI made his way in, and alongside Shingo nailed a combo Backstabber. Back in the ring, BUSHI nailed a neckbreaker for a two count. Okada hit a neckbreaker of his own, and caught BUSHI in Money Clip – but Shingo made the save. Robbie took out Shingo with a dropkick and dive to the outside – and Okada signaled for Rainmaker. It would land, and BUSHI was out.
Who will win at Wrestle Kingdom on January 4th, Shingo Takagi or Kazuchika Okada?
