A TikTok video went viral after a woman decided to self-isolate on an airplane toilet after it became clear that she had tested positive for Covid-19.

According to reports, Marisa Fotieo happened to be traveling to Iceland. And during the course of her journey, she realised that her throat had begun hurting. As such, she decided to take a Covid test, and the rest was history as she ended up with a positive result.
In the video here, we can see that the woman has locked herself in the toilet. She is panning her camera around the toilet to show that she has nowhere else to go.
In doing so, her intention was to keep the other 150 passengers safe. The video was captioned by the following comments: “You test positive for Covid while over the Atlantic Ocean.”
The video instantly went viral with over three million views and counting. And with that, there were a lot of people who had something to say on the matter.
A certain subset of people praised Marisa’s selfless nature, as she gave up her rights in order to ensure the safety of the passengers.
Meanwhile, others felt that her actions were bizarre as the Covid testing programme had taken on a whole new level of restrictions.
One person on Twitter wrote: “Would that even help? the air in the bathroom is circulated throughout the entire plane.”
Regardless of what people thought of her actions, Marisa felt that she did the right thing at a time where there were many emotions running through her mind.
In an interview with NBC news, she said: “I just took my rapid test and I brought it into the bathroom, and within what felt like two seconds there were two lines.
“There’s 150 people on the flight, and my biggest fear was giving it to them.” Marisa certainly had a flight to remember, and given everything that happened to her, it is safe to say that she will not forget that experience anytime soon.
