Recently, WWE made some of their deepest cuts yet to the NXT roster. They have removed most of the key players backstage, many of which were hired into their roles by Triple H. Names such as William Regal, Ace Steel, Ranjin Singh, and Ryan Katz were all released. Even DX alumni Road Dogg was not safe from these cuts. While this has knocked down the morale of talent, Road Dogg is taking things in stride and is now teasing a reunion with his tag team partner.
Road Dogg Needs To Keep The Lights On, Is Interested In AEW
Right now, one half of the New Age Outlaws has already found a steady role on AEW programming. Billy Gunn is the leader of the Gunn Club faction, alongside his sons Colton & Austin Gunn. Once they were an off-shoot of the Nightmare Family, but after turning heel, have been running solo. Gunn is still in incredible shape, and capable of working decent enough matches.
A fan would ask Road Dogg if he has plans to join AEW as a backstage producer, and he’d have the following to say. “This light bill ain’t gonna pay itself!” Road Dogg could provide some more veteran insight to this still new company, and fans would likely not hate a quick New Age Outlaws reunion on screen. He has not wrestled in seven years, with this final match coming from the Royal Rumble in 2015, when The Ascension defeated The New Age Outlaws.
Fans aren’t likely to see him return to the ring if he joins AEW, but his promo skills are still sharp. Having someone to help out with promos in AEW couldn’t hurt, and we could even see Road Dogg help out as a manager. AEW has generally done right by legends, and Road Dogg fits that name at this point in his career.
