Prince Harry and Prince William have faced a huge amount of backlash after they failed to publicly wish Kate Middleton a happy birthday on her 40th celebration.

Kate’s recent birthday was a significant milestone, especially since Meghan had turned 40 just recently. But unlike the former, Kate had reportedly had a very low-key celebration which was much in line with her personality.
Meghan, in contrast, had announced the launch of her 40×40 campaign which coincided with her birthday that had attempted to get women who had suffered from the pandemic back into work.
And given that relations between the Royal family are at an all-time low, people felt that this was the least Harry and Meghan could have done. One person wrote: “She’s your sister in law. I thought Harry loved Catherine like a ‘sister.”
Nevertheless, it is important to bear in mind the following things. First of all, just because Prince Harry and Meghan did not decide to say it publicly, does not mean that they did not wish Kate a happy birthday through another avenue.
Reports in the past have indicated that Meghan and Kate have been speaking via Zoom. As such, it is not out of the realm of possibilities that the pair may have been having a heart-to-heart online.
In this way, they would manage to avoid any media scrutiny too. Charles Rae, who happens to be a Royal expert, felt that Zoom would have most likely been the medium of communication.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he remarked: “Who knows what the Montecito Massive will do. But as they are thousands of miles away it is likely they will wish her happy birthday via Zoom.”
Secondly, in any event, it would be very hard to wish somebody well, especially if they were not on good terms. And yet, this is very distasteful by virtue of the fact that Kate had wished Meghan Markle a happy birthday when the roles were reversed.
The most important thing to remember through all of this is that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton had great birthdays respectively. So there you have it.
