Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had decided to privately video call Kate Middleton in order to wish her a happy 40th birthday.

That is according to Royal expert Christopher Anderson. Initial reports indicated that there was huge condemnation towards Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, especially since they did not publicly wish Kate a happy birthday.
This had been exacerbated by virtue of the fact that Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth had actually publicly wished Meghan a happy birthday on her 40th, which called into question the couple’s decision to stay silent with regards to Kate.
But with the dust now having settled down, it looks as though the pair decided to do things on their own terms and have an intimate moment instead. In an official statement, Christopher said: “They did a video call.”
“They wished her a happy birthday. [It was] very private. Harry and Meghan were not about to post anything the way they did two years ago.”
This decision to keep things behind closed doors is understandable for the following reasons. First of all, even if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had decided to share some words of praise publicly, it is clear that they would still have been subjected to criticism.
After all, people have not forgotten their controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey which was claimed to have destroyed the dynamics of the Royal family.
Secondly, in any event, as long as Kate is happy with the pair and everything is going on well, then that is the most important thing irrespective of whether this is public knowledge.
Lastly, given that the Royal Family has a lot to deal with at the moment, as signified by Prince Andrew’s sexual assault case, it is safe to say that they have their hands full.
And by publicising anything else in the public domain, it will only go on to increase the negative media scrutiny being directed towards the Royal family.
Christopher’s following comments confirmed as much: “[The dynamic of the Royal Family]. This time everything was kept private.”
