It’s the best day of the week, y’all. That’s right, it’s Wednesday! The Wednesday Night Wars continue to barrel on, heating up now as the ratings seem to have stabilized with the two shows being neck-and-neck! I dunno about you but that just feels right to me… I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer and over the next couple of hours I will be previewing both shows! I’m kind of in for the long haul here… but I don’t really mind when it’s cool shows like these we’re talking about!
First up… we’re looking at WWE NXT! The three matches advertised for tonight’s show should all be fairly intense, lotta heat and a lotta talent!
Dakota Kai vs. Mia Yim
It’s fair to say that Dakota Kai made some real waves at NXT TakeOver: WarGames. Her heel turn was definitely foreshadowed, but the execution was creative, impactful, and performed with a lot of rage. It’s very weird to me that we live in a world where Bayley, Kairi Sane and Dakota Kai are all heel at the same time, but that’s a different matter entirely. WWE just does not do cute, y’all…
Anyhow, Mia Yim is of course the woman who Dakota took out back at WarGames in the first place, so fair to say she’s got plenty of reason to want some vengeance. She has to hate her almost as much as Tegan Nox does! So this should make for quite the bout. Mia Yim is of course as pure a brawler as you’ll find in a WWE women’s division and Dakota is known primarily for her kicks, so we’ve got a fight on our hands.
Dakota’s turn is in full swing and Mia Yim has already had a few shots at Shayna Baszler in the past, so I gotta think Kai’s got this one. Dakota over.
