AEW World Tag Team Tournament Semi-Finals: Lucha Bros vs. Private Party
Looks like Quen and Fenix are starting up! Quen gets Fenix in a side headlock. Shoots Quen to the ropes, leap frog from Quen, Quen wants a standing moonsault but it’s avoided, Fenix lands on his feet off an arm drag but eats a rana and then a high dropkick! Quen hits the ropes but meets a WWE Headkick from Penta, setting him up for a Release German Suplex from Fenix who also takes Kassidy to the floor with a dropkick! Tag to Penta. Fenix sets Quen up in the ropes… huge dueling chant for both teams starts. Fenix hits a decisive chop, surprisingly not letting Penta do it. They shoot Quen to the ropes, but he leaps up and dropkicks both Lucha Bros!
Tag to Kassidy, Quen pops Kassidy up for a flying headscissor! Fenix comes in, spinning kicks to each gut. Kassidy rolls Quen up to avoid an enziguri, and they set up a Kaientai style tag team Camel Clutch Curbstomp to Fenix! Quen with a huge tope wiping out Fenix! Kassidy in the ring gets a Trouble In Paradise style enziguri to Penta! Silly String bounceback leads to a Spinning DDT to Penta! Tag to Quen, both members of Private Party up top, 450 splash gets 2! Penta with a kick to the gut, Cero Miedo, sets him up in the corner for a double foot stomp from Fenix and enziguri kicks Kassidy to the floor! Fenix pops Penta up and he double foot stomps the backside of Quen! Spin kick from Fenix, kick to the face from Penta, Lucha Bros set Quen up on the shoulders of Kassidy, Penta sends Fenix up into a dropkick to Quen that forces him to hit a Poison Rana on his own partner?! Flipping tope from Fenix wipes out Kassidy, Modified Michinoku Driver to Quen from Penta gets a nearfall!
Writing up matches like this live is a trip, lemme tell ya… Quen is hooked in the ropes, Fenix gets him with a drive-by shot from the outside. Sharp kick to the back from Penta! Tag to Fenix. Double whip to the corner, Quen gets the boot up, Fenix pulls him away but Quen gets a mid-air headscissor to Pentagon! Multiple backflips, tag to Kassidy, so stylish! Kassidy with a crazy middle rope springboard rana! Whips Fenix, reversal, Kassidy slips under Penta’s feet and trips him to the floor! Springboard rana to Fenix, tope suicida to Penta, WWE Headkick to Fenix, Asai Moonsault to Penta! Springs in for a Crucifix Bomb, nearfall, Jesus!
Tag to Quen. Fenix feints through the ropes, hook kick to Quen, Stunner, spin kick, Kassidy with a SDS, corkscrew plancha to Pentagon! Quen with a Shooting Star Press, narrow nearfall! Fenix with a roundhouse kick to Quen, chop to the squealing Kassidy, fireman’s carry slam to Kassidy, Quen tries to come to his aid, but Fenix hits a Gory Bomb to Quen and a legdrop to Kassidy at the same time! Tag to Penta, Slingblade! Kassidy wants a rana but gets Powerbombed onto the knee of Pentagon! Lucha Bros want their footstomp Package Piledriver combo, Quen with a rana to Penta causes Fenix to trip up, Private Party nail Gin and Juice!
But Penta’s legal, superkick to Kassidy, they set him up top for the Gin and Juice but Penta lands a massive Canadian Destroyer to Kassidy! Fenix runs along the top rope, kick to the face of Quen, and Penta snaps his arm! Double Footstomp/Package Piledriver to Quen, Fenix with the suicide dive to Kassidy! Pentagon pins him, that is that!

AEW World Tag Team Championship Semi-Finals: SCU vs. Dark Order
Kazarian and Stu Grayson start us out. Grayson wins out on a wristlock. Kaz flips out, arm drags commence. Japanese arm drag leads to a wristlock. Grayson gets to the ropes to escape, then starts bickering at Aubrey Edwards. Uno enters to pull him away, then turns and gets a cheap shot on Kaz! Tags in, WWE Headkick, basement dropkick from Grayson, running knee from Uno. Kaz fights back with a combo spin kick, face kick, discus clothesline! Tag to Scorpio, Kaz whips Uno, Scorpio with a dropkick for 2! Tag to Grayson, double team manuever sees Uno whip Scorpio into a high knee for 2. Grayson chops Scorpio into the corner, whip to the opposite corner, Scorpio bounces out with a clothesline. Cheap shot to the back of Scorpio from Uno, but Scorpio counters a back body drop with a double foot stomp! Kazarian tags in, springing dropkick to Grayson! Pulls him in for a 2 count.
Kaz with a wristlock, Scorpio tags in with a double axe handle to the back. Grayson ducks a clothesline, pele kicks, whips Scorpio and Uno low bridges to send Scorpio to the floor! Referee distracted by Kaz trying to run in as Evil Uno whips Scorpio to the steps! Throws him back in, Grayson covers for 2. Commercial break, match continues in the inset. Grayson rams Socrpio headfirst into Uno’s boot. Uno runs in and takes Kaz off the apron, Scorpio back body drops him to his legal corner and tries to fight out, but gets tripped onto the apron where Grayson springs over to hit him with a senton. Gets him back into the ring, headlock spot commences.
Scorpio fights up, Grayson has him in a waistlock, Uno runs in and Scorpio somehow back body drops him whilst being held! He dives for a tag but Uno drags Kaz to the floor to avoid it! Grayson lays him out, Uno tags in, swanton bomb for a nearfall! Scorpio is isolated in the corner, quick tags begin. Uno holds Scorpio in the ring for a roundhouse kick from Grayson as we come back live. Isolation continues, quick tags and knife edge chops from the Dark Order. Scorpio tries to fight out, gets a vertical suplex from Uno who tries to pin him with one knee and a pose. We see the Inner Circle in the crowd walking up the stands as Uno gouges Scorpio’s eyes.
Armbar commences as Uno continues raking at Scorpio’s face. Scorpio counters with a neckbreaker, the crowd is unsurprisingly distracted now. Hot tag to Kazarian, series of clotheslines! Big flying forearm! Scoop slam to Grayson, Springboard Legdrop! Legdrop to the back of the head of Evil Uno! Float-over Spinning Neckbreaker to Grayson! Inner Circle are now watching from the Skybox. Kazarian with an O’Conner Roll but Grayson tagged in seemingly, runs in, Kaz gets him with a Northern Lights Suplex, bridge as he pins both men at once, 2 count! Kaz goes up top, Grayson leaps up there to look for a superplex, Kaz throws him to the mat as Uno crotches him, tags in. Scorpio comes in, Grayson hits him with a high knee, Uno with a Buisaku Knee to the back of Scorpio into a Release German Suplex sending him into his partner in the corner! Kaz gets tossed from Grayson into a powerbomb from Uno for 2! “SCU” chant as Scorpio tags in, Kaz gets Uno with a Backstabber, Scorp in with a springing cutter, Kaz gets the same on Grayson, into stereo Dragon Sleepers! Grayson gets to his feet, powers Kazarian into Scorpio to break both holds!
Scorpio meets a boot on an idiot charge, Grayson with a rope walk springboard rana to get Kaz, then hits a huge flip tope over the top turnbuckle to wipe out Kaz! Uno in the ring gets Scorpio with a Pumphandle Flatliner! Referee is distracted, but comes over to count, close nearfall! Almost positive that was his finisher, hence the delay. “This Is Awesome” chant, Dark Order, want the Fatality, Kazarian comes in with a Springboard DDT to Grayson, followed by a brutal Tornado DDT onto the apron on Uno! Sky hooks Grayson in a Gory Special position, flings him out to a knee from Kazarian, SCU-Later! That is that!

Cool stuff, cool stuff. SCU/Lucha Bros is gonna be quite the final next week.
SCU celebrate in the inset, where we also see the Inner Circle once again and Cody arriving at the building earlier today. Meanwhile, out comes Janela! We see replays of some of the most brutal spots from Janela’s two unsanctioned matches with Omega and Moxley. We also see clips of Kenny’s match with Fenix where he won the AAA Mega Championship, he’s introduced as champion but doesn’t have the belt with him.
Kenny Omega vs. Joey Janela
Lock-up. Kenny with a waistlock. Janela with an arm wringer but Kenny quickly counters. Janela flips around, locks in an armbar. Kenny reverses, northern lights into an arm wringer. Janela with a kip-up, arm drag, springboard arm drag follows. Kenny catches him with a back elbow, back body drop takes him to the apron, gives him a shot, Janela blocks and wants a shoulder thrust but Omega counters with a kick to the face, running start, knocks Janela to the floor! Pescado wipes Janela out on the floor! Gets him back in the ring, chops in the corner. Whip to the opposite corner, charge, Janela evades, big uppercut. Runs into another, solid one! Chops follow. Whip to the corner, Janela gets the boot up, goes up top, thrown off the top but rolls through! Low dropkicks take Omega down and to the floor! Janela up top, big crossbody to the floor!
Rolls him in, cover for 2. Janela whips him to the ropes, wants a back body drop, Kenny kicks his face to counter, big chop as we go to commercial break. We come back in time to see Kenny’s You Can’t Escape combo, but Joey gets the knees up on the moonsault! Joey with a fireman’s carry of his own, but Kenny escapes and sends him to the corner! Janela bounces back into a vicious Dragon Suplex from Omega! And another, geeze! Crowd chants for one more time, Kenny tries twice but Janela avoids it, back elbow takes him towards the corner, reverses a Go Behind, roll-up leads him into the turnbuckle, almost a german suplex! Janela goes up top! Big elbow drop, nearfall! Joey takes Kenny up top, gives him a chop, goes up with him, Kenny hoists him and leaves him slamming against the turnbuckle! There’s the third Dragon Suplex, and the V-Trigger for a nearfall!
Omega hits the ropes, wants another V-Trigger, Joey evades, bounces him off the ropes, huge German Suplex! Kenny with a big chop, pump kick from Janela, Kenny with a V-Trigger, but Janela reverses a suplex with a brainbuster! Damn, what a sequence. “This Is Awesome” chant as Janela makes a crazy face. Hits the ropes three times, leading to a biiiig lariato, narrow nearfall! Omega slips onto the apron, Janela goes up top, wants a swanton but Omega avoids it and Janela lands spinefirst onto the apron! Omega throws Janela into the ring, hits the ropes, destructive V-Trigger, holy Hell! Hoists Janela up onto his shoulders, One Winged Angel spikes him, that’s that!
Winner: Kenny Omega
Janela doesn’t need weapons to have a great match, confirmed. Of course a lot of people can have a great match with Omega, but all the same, he looked awesome!
Cody makes his way out from under the stage. Tony Schiavone will be interviewing him after the commercial.
Indeed, Tony’s in the ring with Cody to kickoff the second hour. Tony brings up Full Gear coming up in Baltimore where Cody will face off with Chris Jericho. Innercircle have airhorns to drown Cody out, this is a bit unique. Cody starts talking about the privilege he has and says it’s apropos that he gets to make this announcement now. Jericho gets on the mic and just says “BOOO” as the airhorns continue. Cody says, “I know you’ve purchased your ticket, but this isn’t like the company we came from. This (the area around the ropes) isn’t an invisible wall, I can easily come through and we can fight right now!” Big pop, chant for “Cody” and “fight”. Jericho tells Pittsburgh to shut it’s mouth.
Jericho says Cody has a lot of bravado and is a smart man, so he tells him not to do something stupid. Calls him a coward, and an entitled millennial little bitch. Cody tears off the suit jacket and starts to jump the barricade. Jericho boasts that the Innercircle is four to Cody’s one (Hager is preparing for his MMA fight this weekend) so Cody hesitates… when Dustin Rhodes’ music hits! Jericho mocks him for having his big brother to come save him. It’s still 4-to-2, he brags! So MJF’s music hits and he emerges as well! Jericho says “So now I’m going to be scared of someone wearing a scarf? Who wears a scarf?!”
And then… “It’s me, it’s DDP”?! Diamond Dallas Page has music of his own as he makes his way out! Jericho starts taunting and telling them not to come up here but he’s being drowned out by the crowd! Cody, Dustin, MJF and DDP trot up the steps and the Innercircle retreats! They lock themselves into a luxury box. MJF hands Cody his scarf and he uses it to help punch through the glass! And now a brawl commences! Jericho gets a trash can thrown over him, he steals a crutch and swings it, Jericho goes face first into the dipping dogs! Weapons being thrown, tons of security coming to pull everyone apart! Jericho holds up his ticket meekly as he yells at Cody.
Cody and his friends are being escorted out of here. We see the crutch being taken back to it’s owner which is nice! Commercial, but the craziness continues in the inset. What a segment. As Innercircle celebrate Cody’s ejection, and the Best Friends are out meanwhile, for their match with the Young Bucks! Orange Cassidy accompanies them.
Cassidy confronts the Bucks in the ring. LEG KICK TO NICK JACKSON! SWEET SHIN MUSIC TO MATT JACKSON! Double superkick takes Cassidy out, big heat.
Young Bucks vs. Best Friends
Best Friends are mad, throwing hands as the bell rings. Matt taken to the floor, Trent with a running clothesline to Nick in the corner, Nick gets tossed by Chuckie T into a cutter from Baretta! Trent with a suplex, Nick knees his way out, ducks some punches, big shot to the face, running knee strike to Chuck Taylor! Springboard X-Factor to Trent, Asai Moonsault to Chuck Taylor! Backbreaker/Neckbreaker to Trent, Headscissor/Running Dropkick to Chuck takes him to the floor! Double baseball slide avoided, Best Friends send them into the barrier! Chuck suplexes Nick onto the apron, whips Matt into a big spear from Trent!
Chuck gets Nick onto his shoulders, Doomsday Knee from Trent off the apron! Chuck turns to the camera and says hi to his mom. In the ring, Trent rips off Matt’s shirt and goes a-chopping. Whips him to the corner, Matt leaps up and DDTs Chuck Taylor onto the apron outta nowhere! Matt confronts Orange Cassidy now who simply backs up until Trent gets Matt with a baseball slide. Trent throws Matt into the ring, big knee drop, 2 count. Forearms, big clothesline takes Matt to the floor. Commercial break. We come back to see Trent avoid a 450 from Nick Jackson who rolls through big gets nailed with a high angle German Suplex! Matt comes in, just to get a vicious Back Suplex! Roundhouse kick from Nick, but Trent nails a Release German Suplex before he collapses! Tag to Chuck, Belly To Bellies on both Bucks! Wants a third on Matt, elbows his way out it, Chuck with a rising knee to Matt, Sliced Bread to Nick, pop-up Sit-Out Powerbomb for a nearfall on Matt!
Chuckie evades Nick, who lands in the corner, Matt charges and gets an overhead belly to belly sending him into his brother! FALCON ARROW! Shockingly there’s a kickout. Matt gets Chuck up top, but Trent comes in from behind for a Super German Suplex! Chuck with a Sole Food into a Dragon Suplex from Trent! Big hug, zoom out! ORANGE CASSIDY UP TOP! CASSIDY FLIES TO WIPE OUT THE YOUNG BUCKS! Strong Zero to Matt, Nick Jackson has to come in with a Swanton to break it up! Trent tags to Chuck as things calm down a bit, Matt’s up on Chuckie’s shoulders, Doomsday Knee avoided, SUPERKICK PARTY COMMENCES! Nick with a springing tope taking out Trent and Cassidy on the floor! Matt with a rolling fireman’s carry slam, More Bang For Your Buck and that’s that!

Fantastic stuff, as always. I love AEW’s tag division so much. Tag wrestling deserves to be this big.
Matt gets a microphone afterwards. Lets Santana and Ortiz know that they accept their challenge for Full Gear!

Jamie Hayter vs. Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D
Unsurprisingly, Britt comes out to a big hometown ovation. And brings a Steelers mascot with her! Bell rings and Hayter quickly pummels in the corner, to big boos. Baker reverses, huge cheers! Hayter reverses a suplex, snap suplexes her into the corner, looked painful! Hayter easily getting heat here. Knocks Britt off the apron. Chant of “Brittsburgh”. Hayter posts her on the outside! Big clothesline takes her down, throws her into the ring and gets some stomps in. Commercial, continues in the inset. Baker with some roll-up attempts, running neckbreaker to get back into it! But Hayter cuts her off, pummels her against the mat, hangs her up on the ropes and grinds her boot against her head, gets some face washes in.
Camel Clutch locked in. Hayter grabs at her mouth and makes her smile. Hayter seems kinda great. Wet willy?! My God. Side headlock, Britt fights to her feet but eats a big haymaker. Britt responds! Trading big shots, it’s the Boo/Yay classic! Britt wins out, big forearms! Hits the ropes, Hayter whips around her and jumps into a piggyback sleeper! Britt just slams onto her back to counter! Hayter elbows her off a charge, but then eats a running high knee in the corner. Slingeblade, 2 count! Hayter with a big chop, Baker kick to the leg, Neckbreaker countered into a Falcon Arrow for a nearfall! Shining Wizard gets another nearfall! Back body drop counters a powerbomb! Baker runs at her, Hayter gouges the eyes! Goes up top, Baker pursues, painful looking superplex, ends up being a brainbuster! Huge uranage from Hayter! Charging lariat! Nearfall, man that was close! Hits the ropes, Britt gets her with a superkick! Armwringer into a Cutter! Swinging Neckbreaker, nearfall. Another superkick, sets up the Lockjaw and there’s the quick tapout!

I expected this to just be an energized squash but that was much more a match than I thought, hopefully we see Hayter again. Anyway, cool to see somebody actually get a big hometown win! We really are seeing an alternative!
Jenn Decker is backstage with Jamie Hayter who cuts her off, only for Brandi Rhodes to attack her and throw her into a wall?! Jenn tries to get a word with her but she just shows her the claws. She seems furious for some reason but walks off.
Main event time!
Jon Moxley vs. PAC
As Moxley comes out, PAC attacks him from behind with a chair! Sends him rolling down the ramp, running stomp! Chokes him with his own jacket as we get a chant of “BASTARD”! PAC hurls Mox into the barricade! Runs with him, throws him full force into the barrier! Mox struggles his way into the ring and the bell rings! Running Enziguri from PAC! He goes right up top for the Black Arrow, Mox rolls to the outside. PAC goes to the canvas, hits the ropes, elegant tope wipes out Moxley! Throws him into the ring, pins for a 1 count. Drives the elbow into the top of his head. Hits the ropes, leg drop, cover for 2.
Mox with a sudden double leg, drives PAC into the corner, lays in the stomps! PAC escapes, spin kick to the gut, single leg dropkick to the side of the head for a nearfall! Commercial, in the inset PAC grinds the boot against Moxley’s head. Hits the ropes, knocks him from the apron and Mox slams right into the barrier! PAC pursues, throws him into the ring, cover for 2. Chinlock commences. Mox punches his way to his feet. Whip from the corner is reversed, PAC with a running back elbow. Kick to the head. Stands on the back of his head as he holds onto the ropes. Mox tries to get back into it with chops but gets the leg kicked out from under him. Roundhouse kicks keep on him his knees as Mox demands he go harder! Wicked roundhouse kick to the head follows, Standing Shooting Star Press follows for a nearfall! Moxley rolls to the apron, pulls himself up with the ropes. PAC to the apron, wants a German, Mox holds onto the ropes. Back elbow, HEADLOCK DRIVER ONTO THE APRON SPIKES HIM! Jesus.
Rolls him into the ring, but Mox is too winded to cover. Exchange of blows start, Boo/Yay but Mox quickly gets a combo of knees, big clothesline! Corner lariat follows, PAC with a pump kick, hits the ropes, lariat flips him onto his face! X-Plex from Moxley for a nearfall! Mox with a suicide dive! Throws PAC into the ring, but he catches him with a knee! Five minutes of TV time remaining announced to boos, Black Hole Slam from Moxley for a nearfall! Running Knee Trembler, nearfall! Mox with a Cloverleaf locked in as we now have four minutes remaining! PAC grabs the bottom rope, Mox waits to break. They’re playing up the time limit a fair bit here…
Mox goes up top as PAC stands. PAC with a sudden dropkick crotches him! PAC pursues, wants a superplex, SUPER FALCON ARROW! Nearfall! PAC drags him into position, goes up top. Looks for Black Arrow, Mox gets up too quickly, PAC rolls over him, low bridge takes Moxley to the floor, kick to the face! Less than two minutes now. PAC from the apron, vicious 450 onto the floor! Throws Moxley into the ring, PAC on the top rope… Black Arrow but Moxley rolls out of the way, PAC crashes and burns! One minute remains, crowd is getting restless over this! Moxley slowly crawls over to get a pin, nearfall. Double Arm DDT with 30 seconds remaining! Moxley slow to cover… kickout at the last second and the time limit expires!
Winner: Draw
I’m a fan of time limits, and understand not wanting to beat either guy. Gets some heat here. Moxley hits the Double Arm DDT on the referee, to a pop! He storms around the ring, furious, barking, “Time limit my ass” as we go off the air.
