Wednesday means wrestling! Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here gearing up for another episode of AEW Dynamite coming up soon! It’s about an hour away from air time as I type this and I better get going on this preview because they’ve been kind enough to give me a whole lot of advertised segments to talk about, matches and promos alike! Eight, by my count! To go from Raw and SmackDown barely giving me two every week to knowing eight things that will definitely be on Dynamite tonight, it’s pretty crazy honestly.
Tonight, we finally see a grudge match that’s been building for quite some time…
Christopher Daniels vs. Pentagon Jr.
On week 3 of AEW Dynamite, back on October 16th, the AEW World Tag Team title tournament was just beginning. But when SCU made their way out at the start of the show for their first round match, they were attacked by the Lucha Bros on the ramp, an assault that saw Christopher Daniels being hit with a Package Piledriver right onto the steel! As a result, he ended up being taken out of the tournament altogether, and he hasn’t had a match since.
Even after popping up again at Full Gear to save his teammates from an attack, CD has continue to sell this injury, missing two full months of ring time over it. But he’s been very clear in his intention to get some payback on Pentagon Jr., the man who put him on the shelf. This week, it’s finally going down, as the ring general of SoCal Uncensored takes on the man who made the words “Cero Miedo” famous.
Daniels is one of the most experienced competitors in the business, having wrestled since the mid-90s, and he is damn near ageless. But against someone like Penta, all those years can very easily catch up to you. It’s a tough one, but I’ll say for atleast this first battle between the two, Pentagon Jr. comes out on top.
