AEW Dynamite is on tonight! In these trying times, I think we could all use the escape so let’s see how they handle this rough spot. I choose to have faith. After weeks, nay, months of mystery and speculation, we’ve been promised the appearance of the Exalted One here tonight! I am Jordan Huie, you are here with us at the Overtimer and hopefully you’re all staying safe and sound. You can expect the same kind of coverage as per usual, with live recaps and results from the show as they come, plus previews of everything that’s on tap for tonight!
Of course AEW comes to us from the Daily’s Place, and it’s gonna be an empty arena show, their first attempt at this. It sounds as if they’re going to attempt to put on the same level of show as usual, tough as that’s gonna be.
The Exalted One Will Appear + Christopher Daniels vs. Evil Uno
The Dark Order have been rumming amok in AEW since the very first show, with Uno and Grayson attacking the Best Friends and The Hybrid-2 after the conclusion of AEW’s first official tag team match. Ever since then, they’ve been a thorn in the side of practically every babyface tag team at some point or another. It’s been a rocky road fan reaction-wise but these past few months have seen a nice rehabilitation there. By simply minimizing their role whilst simultaneously kicking up as much speculation as possible about their shadowy, unknown leader, the Exalted One angle has gotten a lot of people interested in the Dark Order.
Christopher Daniels has vowed to prove that the Exalted One is a fake, however. He set out to do this by taking on both Stu Grayson and Evil Uno in singles matches. He defeated Grayson this past week on AEW Dark and now he logically has his sights set on Uno. This match doesn’t have a graphic and isn’t being talked about so much but they were happy to replay the segment where he made the challenge. So I figure it is still happening at intended, they simply felt hyping up the arrival of the Dark Order’s mystery leader was more worth putting in a graphic.
At this point, it’s hard to say who it might be but I sure do want to know. As for the match, presuming it happens, it’d actually make the most sense in-storyline if Christopher Daniels wins and this draws the shadowy figure out.
