AEW Dynamite continues. We see Tully Blanchard come to his charge Shawn Spears in a limo. Tully says the Search For Spears is over with because he has the missing piece… right here. He has an attache case and inside is… a glove? A fingerless black glove… hm. Spears takes the glove out and puts it on. Now out comes Brian Cage, out here to face Shawn Dean in another tune up for his title shot against Moxley.
Brian Cage vs. Shawn Dean
Cage immediately charges into his partner, drives him hard into the corner repeatedly, pulls him out and tosses him across the ring with an Overhead Belly To Belly! Throws him into the post, pulls him out for a Falcon Arrow! And now he’s going for a Cesaro style superplex… and he nails it with ease! Pulls him up, grinds the finger into his back, biiig Buckle Bomb! Grabs him, hoists him deadlift style for a delayed vertical… but then turns it into a Sit-Out Tombstone known as the Drill Claw! That is for sure that.
Winner: Brian Cage
Afterwards Taz gets in the ring and has a mic. Says he’ll pull the curtain back for us. He and Cage were talking about Dynamite last week where the AEW World Champion was at the announce desk and he was talking about what the Machine would do to Mox at Fyter Fest with the title on the line. Taz says Mox had the audacity to snicker and giggle when he was speaking to him like a gentlemen about how Cage would kick the shit out of him. Says this is not a joke, they do not play games, this is serious. He will get his head in the game or it’ll get knocked off of him. Tells him that this is a machine, this is Cage, beat him if you can and survive if he lets you.
Jon Moxley’s music hits! The champ comes down the stands and grabs a mic from ringside. He slowly enters the ring but Taz demands that before he does it, think and be careful. Moxley does indeed enter the ring anyway and says this IS fun. Tells Taz the reason he was smiling last week is because the thought of stepping into the ring with Brian Cage with that level of intensity and aggression and going to absolute war, that makes him happy, that’s why he’s in this business. But to be very, very clear, stepping into the ring with him with his title on the line is the furthest thing from a game. Tells Cage he is impressive, seemingly indestructible and Mox is far from indestructible, he is human and he can be beat but it’d take him all night long.
Says Taz was right, Cage is a different thing from everybody else in AEW but Moxley is a different thing entirely, taking the AEW championship away from him is a different prospect entirely and you’ll find that out at Fyter Fest when you see that you’re in over your head and swimming with a different breed of shark with all due respect! Says they shouldn’t waste trying to intimidate him, next time they’re on TV just remember who the hell they’re talking about. Mox makes his leave with his point known.
