In recent weeks, we’ve seen a second generation star make their presence known in All Elite Wrestling. This is the son of WCW & WWF legend, Brian Pillman, naturally named Brian Pillman Jr. He’s yet to make his name known on AEW Dynamite, but he’s been all over AEW Dark, even challenging for Brian Cage’s FTW Championship. Pillman Jr. is also making his OVW debut very soon.
We will see him make a big impact before long, but first he needs to get out of his current deal with Major League Wrestling.
Brian Pillman Jr Is Actively Looking For His Release
While speaking on the Wrestling Ice Daily podcast, Pillman Jr would speak on wanting to move on with his career.
“OVW has never been restricted to me and neither has AEW. I haven’t heard from MLW in a while – I used to talk to them all the time but they don’t answer my phone. I’m sure they’re cool and there’s no hard feelings. I guess everything’s that been said has been said and they told me I’m free to chase opportunities outside. I think my contract restricts WWE and NXT and that’s it. They know that I know what I’m not allowed to do and sooner or later I’m sure we’ll try to come to an agreement where MLW can release me.”
On June 1st, he has been transparent about wanting out of this contract, and will keep trying until he gets out. He is thankful for the chances they have given him, but at the same time, it’s time for his career to move on, but that can’t happen until MLW lets him go.
All The Tools To Be A Star
Despite rocking a mullet in 2020, Brian Pillman Jr. has little holding him back from being a star. He’s an incredible athlete, has a powerful family name, and has taken his time to hone his craft before looking for his big chance. His showings on AEW Dark have been great so far, and AEW seems a natural future home for Pillman Jr.
