AEW has quickly become one of the most-watched programs in wrestling. The company has built itself from big stars like Jon Moxley, Jericho and the Elite through the first couple of years. Already have established their stars and future stars but know that the company has been around for over 2 years. It’s reported that a lot of the biggest wrestlers in AEW have signed a 3-year contract.
The reports from Meltzer
” I believe most had a fourth-year option that would likely be picked up, so it’s really not until the early part of 2023 when the biggest names there from the start will become free agents.”
It does feel like many wrestlers will be signing that fourth year, at least. It should be mentioned that Jericho’s contract does seem to be one of these, and it’s likely that other stars could include The Elite and Jon Moxley, but it’s expected that all these wrestlers will re-sign. However,it could mean a lot of changes could happen in 2023 to AEW.
AEW already building for the next 3 years
If some of the biggest stars do leave, it looks like AEW are hiring for the future, and in case some of these stars do leave. The already rumoured Daniel Bryan, Adam Cole and the recent signing of Malakai Black. It’s possible that any of these could replace some of the wrestlers that leave in 2023 or 2024.
There is also a massive possibility that a lot more will be signed with AEW before this year. The roster could possibly look very different. It’s something to keep an eye on. Seeing the first AEW wrestler go to WWE will be very interesting to follow.
