Alicia Fox is a former WWE superstar who entered the company’s system as part of OVW developmental in 2006. Three years later she reached the main roster where her career was storied between the ropes and as far as her active status went.
Alicia Fox Corrects Melina About Her Wrestling Status After WWE Release
For the most part, the assumption has been that Fox was done in-ring full time after the 2019 Royal Rumble. She popped up here and there but she wasn’t actively involved with the in-ring product. Even fellow WWE alumnus and opponent Melina thought as much.
During an interview with MuscleManMalcom, Melina is joined by the former WWE Divas Champion. When the discussion came around to Alicia Fox being released earlier in May 2023, Melina noted that she’d figured that Fox had retired. Fox answered that not only was she not finished in the ring but shared her plans.
“I never said that. The machine said that. Girl, this appearance has been eye-opening. I didn’t put my face on that alumni section. I never said that,” Fox stated in the video. “My bags are still packed. I’m pissed about it. So this is what I’m thinking, so I’m talking to Booker and Sharmell, and then I’ll go do that. Then, we’ll go knock on Trin’s house and then Sasha’s house.”
As we know, Mercedes Mone—the former Sasha Banks—was injured at NJPW Resurgence during the finals of a tournament for the NJPW STRONG Women’s title.
Prior to her injury, Mone also wrestled for STARDOM and was the second IWGP Women’s Champion. As for Trinity Fatu, she is currently part of Impact Wrestling’s Knock Outs roster.
Alicia Fox last appeared in the ring at the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble match where she came in at number 21. Prior to that was the 2021 Royal Rumble match. Besides those appearances, there wasn’t much out of Fox after her tag match on WWE Main Event in April 2019.
