Once upon a time, only the men of WWE got to have the Royal Rumble match. That has since changed, and we’re gearing up for the fourth women’s Royal Rumble match. Asuka, Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair are all previous winners. Shayna Baszler, Alexa Bliss, Peyton Royce, Bianca Belair, Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax, Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke, Tamina, Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott & Natalya have all been declared for the match. This gives 17 open slots for NXT, RAW, Smackdown and legends. Natalya has the #30 slot, but this is anyone’s match.
Let’s Get Ready To (Royal) Rumble!
The first entrant would be Bayley, who has the gas tank to go the full duration. Second would go to Naomi, who is returning from injury after months away, making a number two start hard due to potential ring rust. Bayley would get caught with some forearms after talking trash, then hit with a hurricanrana and sent to the ropes.
Naomi was set up on the ropes but bounced back with a kick before hitting the Rear View and trying to throw Bayley out. The third entrant would be Bianca Belair, the current rival of Bayley. A dropkick to start would see Bayley almost thrown over the top rope. She’d stay in again, but take a Spinebuster. Belair woman handled Naomi, before Bayley almost took her out. Billie Kay would be number four, wanting to add Royal Rumble winner to her resume, but joining commentary instead.
Naomi caught Belair with a kick, and Bayley almost got her out. Bayley missed a crossbody off the middle rope, and Shotzi Blackheart from NXT with her tank was number five. She’d shoot the nerf cannon at Billie Kay, before going to war with Bayley and hitting a missile dropkick. Blackheart caught Belair with her senton to the middle rope, but couldn’t get the elimination. Next was Shayna Baszler, one of last year’s finalists and now two time WWE Women’s Tag Champion.
Baszler launched kicks and spinebuster, before being lifted to the ropes by Naomi & Belair, before Toni Storm came in at number seven. Billie Kay didn’t get a partner in her fellow aussie, before hitting German Suplexes a plenty before a big hip attack on Naomi.
Some Surprise Returns
Blackheart was the first out, after throwing kicks at Baszler and being sent over the top rope. Jillian Hall would be back for the first time in a very long time for number eight, and Billie Kay got her partner. Billie & Jillie hit the ring, and quickly hit a double suplex on Naomi before a handspring splash. Next was Ruby Riott, entering her third Royal Rumble. She’d go after Toni Storm, and be hit with a German Suplex, before Billie Kay helped out Riott allowing her to hit a superkick. Billie, Jillie, and Ruby does rhyme after all.
Victoria would make her long awaited WWE return at number ten, hitting some double clothesline and a big swinging side slam. She was kicked out of the ring though the ropes, and was able to get a flipping leg drop over the apron. Number eleven was Peyton Royce, who went to work quickly with some kicks on Riott, before having a brief reunion with Billie Kay. Royce hit a version of Widows Peak, before taking it from Victoria.
Santana Garrett from NXT would be number twelve, getting a hard forearm strike on Storm before hitting a handspring back elbow. Garrett almost got Riott out, but she held on tight. Belair was in trouble against Victoria, but got back in. Liv Morgan came in at number 13, and quickly hit the Oblivion Facebuster and a Crucifix Driver with the help of Ruby Riott.
Billie & Jillie imploded after a Samoan Drop from Jillian, and Kay eliminated her with a big boot over the top. Riott Squad quickly dumped Kay out soon after. Business picked up in a big way with number fourteen, as Rhea Ripley is here. He’d instantly show her power, taking out anyone who moved and threw old rival Toni Storm out.
Rhea Ripley Is Cleaning House
Shayna Baszler took Victoria out of the match, and Ripley had to work hard to get a crafty Garrett out as well. Number fifteen would be Charlotte Flair, last year’s winner but who lost her WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship earlier this night. She went right to work on rival Rhea Ripley with some big chops and a backdrop, before going after Naomi.
Bayley slipped under the legs of Royce who was trying to take Riott out, and hit a powerbomb for an elimination. Dana Brooke would enter the match at sixteen, and go right after Ripley with a forearm before diving off the top rope with a dropkick. She went up again for a flipping senton, before hitting a neckbreaker on Bayley. Brooke went back to Ripley, as Morgan was eliminated by Royce, who saved Bayley in the process.
Torrie Wilson would be seventeen, the number that Flair won from last year. A swinging neckbreaker to Naomi, facebuster to Bayley, and suplex to Royce would show she’s still got it, before trying to eliminate Flair. Brooke would almost get Ripley, before Brooke was powerbombed off the apron. Eighteen was apparently Ric Flair, who just led the way to Lacey Evans.
Charlotte looked for quick revenge and started a wild brawl as soon as she hit the ring. They’d slip under the bottom rope and keep brawling, but Flair found time to eliminate Royce. Baszler eliminated Wilson, while Belair seemed to get Bayley out. Mickie James hit the ring at nineteen, and kicked Evans while she was down on the outside. Flair & James clashed, James coming off the top rope with a hurricanrana.
Ten Women To Come, A New 24/7 Champion
Twenty would be Nikki Cross, who charged in with a fury and nailed a neckbreaker before hitting everything that moved. A bulldog to Belair, crossbody to Baszler before a DDT to Ripley! Alicia Fox was twenty-one, and was tailed by R-Truth, chased by the 24/7 challengers. Fox pinned him to become 24/7 champion, and Mandy Rose was number twenty-two. She’d knee Fox in the head and take her out, R-Truth winning his belt back on the outside.
Rose fought off Cross with a lariat, and number twenty three was Dakota Kai from NXT. Kai picked up the pace, and met a recent rival in Ripley, having met in WarGames in 2020. She’d hit a scorpion kick, but on the other side of the ring Evans eliminated James with The Women’s Right. Belair would try to get Naomi out, as Carmella entered at twenty-four, looking to re-earn a shot after losing to Sasha Banks.
Ripley got her fourth elimination with Kai, and her fifth with Rose. Reginald helped Carmella into the ring, and Cross threw her out only for Reginald to catch her. Carmella got Cross out soon after, and Tamina was number twenty-five. Reginald was hit with a superkick after catching Carmella again, eliminating her. Tamina & Ripley met in a powerhouse clash, as Naomi & Belair kept going at it after nearly forty minutes. Naomi was shoved out, but landed on her back, feet not touching.
She pulled Belair out by her braid, and got some help getting back into the ring by Belair. Lana was number twenty-six, and went for Ripley early on. Tamina caught Lana in the corner, as Naomi got another close call on Belair. Number twenty-seven is Alexa Bliss, seeming her normal self, not a demon tonight.
Everyone’s Here!
Bliss would be mauled by the entire field, everyone knowing she’s a threat. This pissed her off, and as she tried to transform into her darker form, Ripley got her sixth elimination. Number twenty-eight is Ember Moon, who caught Baszler with the Eclipse, and Ripley with a butterfly suplex. Moon kept moving, and got Flair & Tamina with a double codebreaker. Nia Jax was number twenty nine, and reunited with Baszler who rolled under the ropes.
The tag champions would start to clean house with Baszler getting Evans, Moon & Naomi out, before having some issues with Tamina. They’d work together to take her out, before throwing blows at each other. Baszler got to Ripley, before Jax threw her partner out. Lana hopped onto her back and was flung off, before luring her to the ropes and sending her over the top. Natalya as expected, was number thirty.
Baszler & Jax kept attacking people despite being eliminated, before calmly leaving, but throwing a beaten Natalya into the ring first. Natalya threw Lana out after a hug, putting us to four. Ripley, Belair, Flair, and Natalya. Natalya got Ripley with a suplex, and was almost taken out by the veteran, but hung on while Belair got Natalya out.
The final three would have a stand off, before Flair struck first. She’d be beaten down by the two recent NXT alumni, who knew how dangerous she was. Flair got a big suplex on Belair, then failed to take out Ripley with a big boot. She held on over the top rope, before taking a handspring kick from Belair. A double forearm, and Flair is gone.
And Then There Was Two… Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair!
Either Ripley or Belair are going to Wrestlemania. Ripley went from behind, and sent them both to the apron. They’d reset in the ring, starting on equal ground before Ripley missed a lariat and was set up on the top rope. A forearm had her hanging, but Ripley scrambled back in and sent Belair over the top. She got back in, and they both went for a facebuster, and had a double down.
A shot to the jaw stunned Belair, but she slipped off the shoulders and wanted Glam Slam. Ripley slingshotted her into the middle rope, and went for Riptide. Belair countered, went for Kiss of Death, Ripley slipped out but was sent over the top rope! Bianca Belair wins the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble, lasting 56 minutes from the number three spot!
