Kate Middleton, The Princess of Wales, received a regrettable title after a Fox News graphic made an error and linked the royal to large aquatic animals.
Fox News Humiliates Kate Middleton By Calling Her ‘The Princess Of Whales’
During the Wednesday episode of America’s Newsroom, Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino discussed their forecasts they had made at the beginning of the year and then made new predictions for the upcoming year, which was illustrated using a graphic.
Perino had anticipated that Kate Middleton would be expecting a baby in 2022, but the graphic revealed that following Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September, Middleton was appointed to her current title instead.
Despite this, the name that was printed on the Fox News image was not the Princess of Wales, but the “Princess of Whales”. For those who may not be aware, the prominent royal title is known after the nation Wales, and not an actual mammal of the sea.
It is not surprising, then, that this got the attention of people on social media who began to see the funny side of it. And in the process of doing so, they made a running joke about the whole situation.
One person wrote: “Fox News referring to Kate Middleton as the Princess of Whales was not on my bingo card,” while another person stated: “Oh Fox News, you can be so entertaining sometimes.”
This isn’t the first time that such a mistake has been made. Much in the same way, in 2019, ex-president Donald Trump wrongly wrote in a tweet that he had met the current King Charles III while visiting England.
Trump incorrectly spelled the former title of the king as ‘Prince of Whales’. In his comments at the time, Trump remarked: “I meet and talk to ‘foreign governments’ every day.
“I just met with the Queen of England (UK), the Prince of Whales, the P.M. of the United Kingdom, the P.M. of Ireland, the President of France and the President of Poland. We talked about ‘Everything.”
