Ring of Honor is back with a vengeance, and this has opened up the door for the AEW roster to have extra work. After being bought by Tony Khan, both companies now work in tandem. During Supercard of Honor, we’d see the debut of a new faction lead by Tully Blanchard. While the AEW status of Brian Cage was never in doubt, the new tag team Gates of Agony featured two unsigned stars – but both Toa Liona & Kaun are now part of the AEW & ROH roster.
Kaun & Toa Liona Join AEW Tag Team Ranks
This news was confirmed by Fightful Select, following Kaun & Toa making their debut as clients of the legendary Tully Blanchard. Kaun had previously wrestled Adam Cole on an episode of AEW Dark, and is a former ROH Six Man Tag Team Champion as part of Shane Taylor Enterprises.
Toa Liona would speak about his path to signing with AEW while speaking on Koffin Radio. Loa had the following to say about meeting with Tony Khan during AEW Dark.
So after all the Dark tapings and stuff like that, I had a conversation with Tony and he just pretty much said, ‘Stay ready.’ So I got my gear and had a conversation with Kaun. Me and him have the same type of mindset. We love to grind, we love to work hard, and we both want to the best to ever do it. So I feel like it was the perfect partnership for me and him to put together in a tag. So when that happened, man, we just had to stay ready, and when we got that phone call, you get another opportunity, you got to get ready to hit out of the park.”

After a strong debut against Shinobi Shadow Squad, Gates of Agony are expected to make quite the splash in the ROH tag team division, and perhaps even the AEW division. Who else should Tony Khan sign for the ROH roster? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
