That is according to Royal author Tom Bower’s book ‘Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors.’ It is alleged that Meghan had managed to find herself a position of power within the Royal family, despite having humble beginnings.
In this way, she was able to control the narrative surrounding her prior to her exit from the Royal family.
So much so that she ultimately managed to convince Harry to leave the Royal family and move overseas, something which nobody had envisaged as happening ever, let alone at the time.
In his book, Tom wrote: “I never deny Meghan’s successes. She’s an intelligent operator who has thrown down the challenge. She wants to control the narrative.
“I’m fascinated by the power that Meghan has been able to assume.” Nevertheless, it is important to bear in mind that Meghan has been supported by Harry during the most difficult periods.
After all, he not only appeared alongside Meghan on their controversial Oprah Winfrey interview, Harry was also seen holding Meghan’s hand as they walked in solo during the ‘Service of Thanksgiving’ at St Paul’s Cathedral during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.
And that idea of unity is something that Tom picked upon. His following comments confirmed as much: “I can’t see them ever being apart.
“They are joined at the hip – so there will be no time or space for Harry to reflect and regret the severe levels of harm that they’ve inflicted on to their own families.”
The response on social media was mixed. A certain subset of people felt the perception of Meghan was tantamount to that of the negative media scrutiny that Princess Diana had been getting.
One person wrote: “The more trash I see published against #MeghanMarkle and #PrinceHarry the more I know powerful people are scared of them and want them taken out. That is how they treated Diana.”
