Any day now in AEW, Miro will make his return to the ring. Following Full Gear 2021, Miro took some time off to recover from some injuries, and is now just waiting for an opening to get back into the mix. Meanwhile, he’s had some background talks with AEW – and is sticking with the company for a while yet
Miro Signs On For Extra Four Years With AEW
It’s being reported that Miro has signed a four year extension with AEW – effectively putting him with the company until 2026. This is major news for AEW, as his original deal was set to expire later this Spring. Now, AEW has Miro for years to come – which given the quality of his run thus far? Miro is the type of talent you want to keep around.
The highlight of his time in AEW came as TNT Champion, where he reigned for 140 days. Miro was booked as being nearly unstoppable during this reign, only falling to the crafty Sammy Guveara in the end. This was the first time Miro was pinned in AEW, with his only other loss coming from Bryan Danielson at Full Gear 2021.
The Sky’s The Limit For God’s Favourite Champion In AEW
Right now, the TNT Championship is held by Scorpio Sky – but even his American Top Team allies will have a hard time keeping Miro away from his championship. Even if Miro decides to go after the AEW World Heavyweight Championship instead – few will question the validity of his challenge.
Simply put – Miro could be put anywhere on the AEW card, and fit. That is why signing him until 2026 was one of their best moves in recent memory. He’s able to make just about any role or feud work – something he proved time and time again in WWE as Rusev.
There are no current plans for Miro to immediately return to AEW programming – but promised new storylines after AEW Revolution. This leaves the door more open for his return – which will hopefully be soon.
