The New Beginning series takes a look at both New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) New Beginning tours taking place in Japan and the United States.
The New Beginning USA card in Durham marks the second show for NJPW on January 27th and the third event of the tour, taking place one day after the tour stops in Nashville, Tennessee.
TJP squares off with luchador Misterioso in the opener, and Yuji Nagata/Satoshi Kojima meets the NJPW Los Angeles Dojo Young Lion pairing of Alex Coughlin/Clark Connors in the second contest of the evening.

Current 8x NWA World Tag Team Champions Rock ‘n’ Roll Express (Ricky Morton/Robert Gibson) team up with Alex Zayne against the NJPW/CHAOS pairing of Rocky Romero, Colt Cabana, and Toru Yano in what marks the return of Rock ‘n’ Roll Express to NJPW after their September 2019 appearances during the NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed tour in the United States.

NJPW Los Angeles Dojo Young Lions have a big opportunity on the 27th to show off their progression against two former singles champions within NJPW in two co-headlining matches.
2019 Young Lion Cup winner Karl Fredericks faces former NEVER Openweight Champion Jeff Cobb, who is poised to have a big 2020 under the NJPW banner.
Ren Narita who is on an excursion from the NJPW Tokyo Dojo faces former IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Lance Archer as he battles his way back into title contention.
While neither Fredericks nor Narita are likely to win, both will gain valuable experience as they edge closer to graduating from the Young Lion system.

The marquee match on the 27th in Durham sees the NJPW/CHAOS v Bullet Club teams meet up again, acting as a prelude to a group of headline and marquee contests for later in the tour:
Hiroshi Tanahashi v Yujiro Takahashi on January 26th in Tennessee
Hiroshi Tanahashi & Kota Ibushi v G.O.D. (Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa) marquee match on January 26th in Tennessee
Chase Owens v Kota Ibushi on February 1st in Atlanta
FinJuice (C) [Juice Robinson & David Finlay] v G.O.D marquee match on February 1st in Atlanta for the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship
