The Dark Order have been making an impact in All Elite Wrestling. Currently consisting of the in ring duo of Evil Uno & Stu Greyson, The Dark Order have become a cult who prey on the weak and beaten down. Join them, and gain power beyond your imagination. Become part of a community of like-minded people. A very alluring offer for someone down on their luck. Even you can apply to join the Dark Order on their website. Anyone can be a part of their ranks. But every faction needs a strong leader, and with Dark Order gaining so much prominence in AEW, surely there must be someone strong behind them. Maybe someone in management, who somehow can’t seem to win his big matches? Maybe Kenny Omega is behind this.
Kenny Omega Is Known For Faction Leadership
What truly blasted Kenny Omega to the forefront of wrestling was his involvement in Bullet Club. When he ousted AJ Styles to take over, he was the head of the biggest heel faction in Japan. He had people who would run in and ensure his victory whenever he needed them to. He had power in numbers to back up his in ring excellence, making him a truly vicious force to face.
In AEW, he was part of The Elite, but that has become fractured and more about The Young Bucks & Cody. The Bucks supported him in his match with Jon Moxley, but they don’t normally show up with him at this point. Even Hangman Page left The Elite, and Marty Scurll never joined with his friends in AEW yet. He won’t join The Inner Circle, him and Chris Jericho have too many differences. But he might not need to join a faction if he’s running one from behind the scenes.
Can’t Win The Big Matches
While Kenny Omega is able to easily defeat the likes of Kip Sabian & Jack Evans, any big match he’s been in with AEW has ended in defeat. He couldn’t beat Chris Jericho at Double or Nothing, he was submitted by PAC at All Out, he was brutalized by Jon Moxley at Full Gear. Since leaving Japan after losing the IWGP Heavyweight Championship to Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kenny Omega has been in a slump.
He was down on his luck. It’s possible that from the start, The Dark Order recruited him at his darkest time. They joined AEW well after him, but already had their army of creepers with them, so they started recruiting well before their debut, so you can’t discount that they recruited Omega at that time but are simply waiting to reveal him.
Adding Some Character To The Best Bout Machine
Kenny Omega is possibly the best in ring performer of his generation. He earned the nickname ‘Best Bout Machine’ for a reason, and his matches with Kazuchika Okada in NJPW will go down as this generations ‘Flair vs. Steamboat’ series. While in Japan, you can easily maintain popularity through being an incredible wrestler, western fans are more fickle. Omega hasn’t made as much a splash as you would have thought he could have in AEW so far. He comes off as boring outside of his matches. Fans are told they should care about him, but aren’t given much reason besides “well he’s a good wrestler”.
Having Kenny Omega be the evil mastermind behind a cult like The Dark Order would be an excellent way for Kenny to show his vibrant personality to the world. He was at his best in NJPW when he was essentially an over the top anime villain brought to life. Laughing manically as his foes laid battered and bruised after an assault by Bullet Club. AEW could emulate this with The Dark Order. Kenny would elevate the faction, and they could elevate his popularity to where it rightfully belongs.
This is all just purely speculation, and anyone could be behind Dark Order, but if they’re to be taken seriously, they need a big name in their ranks. Another possibility is Hangman Page, who lost the first ever match for the AEW Championship to Chris Jericho. He would have just as much reason to join the Dark Order as Kenny Omega would, but he’d almost be underwhelming as a reveal. No matter who is behind them, I predict 2020 will be the year of The Dark Order. Join them now, and be spared.
