MJF vs. Joey Janela
Maxwell Jacob Friedman is one of the most talked about men in professional wrestling today and for damn good reason. He’s a truly fantastic heel, easily among the best in the game. At 23 years of age, he’s already in the running for the best talker in the business right now, and likely to just get better with time. And all this tends to overshadow that in the ring, he’s a damn good pro wrestler too! MJF has a scary high ceiling. With him, the question isn’t “Will he be world champion?” but rather “How long will it take for him to be world champion?” I wouldn’t actually be that shocked to see it happen this year at this rate.
MJF does, after all, have a truly massive match with Cody on the horizon. That is of course assuming Cody manages to survive all the stipulations that Max put in front of him! Joey Janela on the other hand is pretty strictly in the middle of the pack, but tends to impress with his sheer resilience and willingness to put his body through anything. Looking at the two of them, they are staunch opposites, which is always a fun thing to see in a match.
Janela’s rise has been slow to the point of being hard to notice sometimes, but I do think it is occurring. He has his own feud with Kip Sabian to look forward to know, stemming from Kip’s relationship with Joey’s ex-girlfriend Penelope Ford. All that said… it’d be silly to expect an upset right about now. MJF to win.
