WWE Monday Night Raw rages on! We are two hours into the show now and Randy Orton is making his way out! Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to give you the live recap and results from the show as they come. Orton slowly enters the ring, and the heat on him is still pretty big.
Orton slowly raises up a mic and says he knows he still owes everybody an explanation for what he did two weeks ago. He says what he did to Edge hurt Randy more than it hurt him… but now Matt Hardy is making the interruption! And he gets a damn big response, loud chant of “DELETE”. Matt says just like everybody else, he wants to know why he did it. Everyone wants to know why he did it. Goes into the ring and says he knows what Randy is thinking right now, probably wondering why he gives a damn about Edge. Says everyone here knows the story between him and Edge, it’s no secret. Chant of “Lita”.
Matt Hardy says there was one point in time where nobody on planet Earth hated Edge more than him.
But before that happened, they were best friends. Himself, Edge, Christian and Jeff, all staying in the same hotel room together just to save a few bucks. Four young, passionate driven kids who just wanted to live out their dream of being WWE superstars. And they damn sure did, at No Mercy ’99 they revolutionized the ladder match. Chant of “TLC”, Matt says they invented the TLC match and it gets a big pop. Matt says those young kids will live forever and at one of those WrestleManias they stole the show!
When he saw Edge was forced to retire, all the hate he had for him was gone, because they both shared a passion, they love this, they love performing for the WWE Universe. And he couldn’t imagine if this was taken away from him before he was ready. After Edge had retired, he always asked Matt, what if? What if? Nine years later, he made the most miraculous return ever and you, Randy, took that away. Jeers. He asks Randy what in the hell is wrong with him.
Orton wants an RKO but Matt shoves him away, pummels him in the corner for a bit until Orton shoves him off, nails the RKO anyway! Aaaand here comes Hardy’s write-off as Orton grabs two steel chairs! Just like with Edge before, we have a Conchairto!
Pretty cool to give Matt that promo on what may end up being his last night ever on WWE television.
