The marquee match saw the CHAOS team of IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Roppongi 3K (Sho/Yoh), Will Ospreay, and Kazuchika Okada face the Suzuki-Gun team of Yoshinobu Kanemaru, El Desperado, Taichi, and RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr (ZSJ). meet in an elimination match, where eliminations occurred by participants being thrown over the top rope and both feet hitting the ground, or by fall (pin/submission).

Despite the nature of the match leading some to believe it would be a throwaway, New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) tends to deliver the same measure of work rate in these matches, while giving fans a little something different to witness.

The match went on to build towards the New Beginning in Osaka contest. On the event, Roppongi 3k will defend their title against Yoshinobu Kanemaru and El Desperado. Okada and Taichi continued their hostility after the battle they had on February 2nd during night-two of The New Beginning in Sapporo.

However, the biggest interaction of the night was between Will Ospreay and ZSJ. Ospreay lost his championship challenge against ZSJ during the NJPW’s second night in Sapporo last week and was determined to not allow the same to happen in Korakuen.

ZSJ and Ospreay were the final two alive in the match, turning their interaction into a de facto special singles match. The two exchanged slick counters and entered a brief chain wrestling exchange as Ospreay passed the chance to eliminate ZSJ by throwing him to the outside, instead deciding he wanted to defeat the Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion by fall.

Ospreay would go on to pin ZSJ after an impressive counter into his Storm Breaker technique. Following, he would immediately call for his right to have another match for ZSJ after gaining a fall victory over the fallen champion.

It would not take long for Revolution Pro Wrestling to make a huge announcement.

February 14 will be the first match in RevPro for Ospready since August 30, 2019, when he defeated David Starr in a critically acclaimed match.

The upcoming championship match will be the 13th singles match between ZSJ and Ospreay. Currently, ZSJ holds an impressive 8-4 record against his challenger.
