It was a swing match for Desperado, who could keep pace with the top of the BOSJ 27 table if he were able to capture the victory over his unit mate. However, the much improved Douki, who has seen his form grow exponentially over the past 18 months was able to give Desperado all that he could handle.

Despite being the massive underdog, and not expected to win a match throughout his BOSJ 27 campaign, Uemura came out with fire. He gave the veteran some issues early on during the match but didn’t have the experience to string together his offense.

The headline series match of the event saw reigning two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and Bullet Club member “Bone Soldier” Taiji Ishimori took on CHAOS member “Sniper of the Skies” Robbie Eagles. With Eagles coming in with a (2-2) [4 points] record, defeating Ishimori was a must for him to keep his BOSJ 27 Finals hopes alive.

The third series match of the event saw former two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and BOSJ 19 (2012) “Funky Weapon” Ryusuke Taguchi face former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) member Bushi.

The second series match of the event saw “Way to the Grand Master” Master Wato take on Suzuki-Gun member Douki. On July 11th at the New Japan Cup 2020 Finals, Wato defeated Douki in his return match from an excursion in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL).

The opening series match of the event saw former three-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, BOSJ 25 (2018) winner, and Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) member “Time Bomb” Hiromu Takahashi take on NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lion Yuya Uemura.

The marquee series match of the event saw Suzuki-Gun member El Desperado take on “Way of the Grand Master” Master Wato, who was accompanied by his mentor former four-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroyoshi Tenzan. Desperado came into the match after defeating NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lion Yuya Uemura on November 20th, while Wato dropped the fall to “Funky Weapon” Ryusuke Taguchi on the same night.

The headline series match of the event saw CHAOS member “High Voltage” Sho take on former two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and BOSJ 19 winner “Funky Weapon” Ryusuke Taguchi. Sho came into the match after falling to fellow CHAOS member “Sniper of the Skies” Robbie Eagles on November 20th. Taguchi was able to defeat “Way to the Grand Master” Master Wato on the same night.

The third series match of the event saw former three-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, BOSJ 25 winner, and Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) member “Time Bomb” Hiromu Takahashi face Suzuki-Gun member Douki. While Douki came into the match winless during the BOSJ 27 campaign, his growth in form is clear to when he made his NJPW debut during BOSJ 26.
