The match saw the quickness and kicking ability of Wato take on the power and submission ability of Sho. Wato proved he could hang at the top of the Junior Heavyweight division, giving Sho a stiff challenge and absorbing his opponents’ physical offense.
The second series match of the event saw “Way to the Grand Master” Master Wato take on Suzuki-Gun member Douki. On July 11th at the New Japan Cup 2020 Finals, Wato defeated Douki in his return match from an excursion in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL).
The third series match of the event saw former two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and BOSJ 19 winner “Funky Weapon” Ryusuke Taguchi (1-1) [2 points] take on “Way to the Grand Master” Master Wato (2-0) [4 points]. Taguchi was coming off a November 18th loss to reigning IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and Bullet Club member “Bone Soldier” Taiji Ishimori, while Wato defeated CHAOS member “Sniper of the Skies” Robbie Eagles on the same night.
The second series match of the night saw “Way to the Grand Master” Master Wato face CHAOS member “Sniper of the Skies” Robbie Eagles. Both Wato and Eagles were coming off victories during their opening match of the campaign.
“Way to the Grandmaster” Master Wato makes his Best of the Super Juniors debut during Best of the Super Juniors 27 (BOSJ 27). Master Wato officially returned from his over two-year excursion in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) in July of this year, continuing his path as one of the youngest New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) roster members.
