Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here and we are closing in on a pretty damn crazy weekend of wrestling. The long talked about NXT main roster invasion has finally happened over the past few weeks, and we’ve been led to a truly unique couple of shows. Rounding out the weekend, WWE Survivor Series 2019 is upon us, and it’s set to be a very unique show to say the very least. It’s a three way war, with Raw vs. SmackDown vs. NXT! Plus, three very interesting world title matches will be taking place as well.
Regardless of what you think of the build, the card itself looks incredible. It should be a surreal experience seeing these bouts come to head. And I’ll be doing a match by match preview for the whole show, so let’s get to it!
WWE Raw Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders vs. WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. NXT Tag Team Champions The Undisputed Era (Non-title)
These are three of the best tag teams in the world. I do feel comfortable saying that much. Whether they’ll be allowed to truly prove that here, I can only hope. Part of me is a little sad that the Revival didn’t end up being in this match, though I wasn’t surprised to see New Day take their spot and there’s a myriad of reasons why. They did atleast get to lock up with Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly beforehand though. And I can’t complain about having Kofi Kingston and Big E in there.
There’s really quite the eclectic mix of speed, power and technique between these six men. You could see practically anything in this one. It’s also pretty rad seeing New Day interact with both of these teams for the first time, I must admit. I can’t help but think they’d have a lot of fun with Fish and O’Reilly…
Again, picking winners for these is gonna be rough and I’m almost positive they’ll end up going out of their way to surprise me. It wouldn’t really be an upset if any of these three tandems won. And like I said, I have to think they’re gonna try and make this somewhat even, so the brands do have to exchange victories.
Considering that, this match right here is probably the best chance for the blue brand to pick up a W, so I’m gonna go with The New Day.
They are, after all, pretty much WWE’s marquee tag team and have been for years. Especially now that the Usos are seemingly in purgatory, the New Day are pretty easily the premier team, in terms of positioning, history, star power and talent all weighed together.
WWE Survivor Series 2019 will be airing this Saturday on the WWE Network at 7 PM Eastern Time, 6 Central. There will also be a two hour pre-show leading into the event. The show emanates from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer, and I will be giving you a live play by play of the show as it happens. Stay tuned!
