The WWE has put extra emphasis on their social media channels over the last couple of years, but that has meant that everybody has been able to see the promos and matches that have been met with disdain by the WWE Universe. Now, the top ten most disliked videos on the official WWE YouTube channel have been revealed for the past 12 months.
Some of these moments may be less of a surprise than others, but let us know in the comments whether you agree with the top five.
1. Charlotte Flair Replaces Becky Lynch (73,000 dislikes)
This was by and away the winner (or loser) for the most disliked video this year, and there is little surprise in that considering how hot Becky was with the fans earlier in the year. The revelation was made on Raw by Vince McMahon that Charlotte would be replacing Becky in the main event against Ronda Rousey. Fans were immediately outraged before they were appeased later by Becky being put back into the match.
2. Seth Rollins and The Fiend at Hell in a Cell (48,000 dislikes)
This was arguably the worst and most confusing match of the year between two full-time employees. It was negatively received by almost every WWE fan around the world and is unsurprisingly in the list. Seth was disqualified in this match for attacking The Fiend too viciously, which is absolutely crazy since it was a No DQ match. It was a baffling finish and was a sign that the WWE put themselves into a corner that they couldn’t get out from.
3. Brock Lesnar Attacks Rey Mysterio and Dominic (39,000 dislikes)
I’m actually not sure if I’m in the minority here, but I absolutely loved this segment. It built up the upcoming match with Cain Velasquez, while also setting the seeds for the Mysterio story that would follow it. It was Brock at his violent best and Rey and Dominic selling like champs.
4. Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman Arm Wrestling (23,000 dislikes)
I mean, it doesn’t really need any explanation. It was unentertaining and a complete waste of everybody’s time. Nobody was interested in this feud, and it took place at a time when Strowman was going a little stale with the fans. If I never see this segment again, I would be happy.
5. Kofi Kingston vs Daniel Bryan Gauntlet Match (22,000 dislikes)
Kofi’s road to WrestleMania success last year was a difficult one, but this was an example of the WWE, and in particular, Vince McMahon, playing against the WWE Universe. Fans thought that Kofi had done enough for the title match against Bryan, only for the chairman to change the rules and force Kingston to face one more opponent. Ultimately he lost that match, but he did go on to win at Mania to capture the gold.
