If you’ve been watching All Elite Wrestling lately, you’ll have noticed some video packages meant to hype up the debut of presumably a monster by the name of Wardlow. But the thing is, no one seems to know who this man is, or what he wants; but the AEW roster will better for having another big man to balance out all their high flyers.
Who Is Wardlow?
31 year old Micheal Wardlow, or simply Wardlow will be coming in around 6’2 and weighing 250 pounds of pure muscle out of Cleveland, Ohio, so while he isn’t gonna be the biggest guy in the industry, but as seen from the hype packages, he’s built like a brick wall, and will be an imposing figure for any opponent to overcome. AEW’s generally smaller faster roster is going to be dwarfed by him, especially if he faces opponents like Darby Allin or ‘Jungle Boy’ Jack Perry. The only opponents who will match him size wise are Luchasaurus and Jake Hagar, which are matches I hope we get to see.
Debuting in 2014, he’s equipped with backgrounds in Jui-Jitsu & Boxing, and his Splash Mountain Powerbomb has brought him title success at smaller promotions across the United States, being a 3 time IWC World Heavyweight Champion for International Wrestling Cartel in Pennsylvania, USA, as well as a one time IWC Super Indy Champion, and most recently the inaugural Revenge Pro World Championship. Its clear he’ll make a splash in AEW, so it might be a matter of time before he adds the AEW Championship to his trophy case.
There isn’t many notable names he’s achieved victory over, but he’s shared the ring with people like Punishment Martinez (now Damien Priest of WWE NXT), Shane Taylor, Tyson Dux, Brian Pillman Jr, Mikey Whipwreck, DJ Z, and Moose.
Will He Enter All Elite Wrestling Alone?
One thing that is a question in regards to him is will he come with a valet? In his initial hype package at All Out, he was seen with an unidentified woman who he defended against some thugs in what looked like an empty parking lot. She was not seen in his more recent package from this weeks Dynamite, which just featured him working out. There is also a possibility he serves as muscle for a smaller member of the roster, forming a partnership akin to that of Diesel and Shawn Michaels back in the mid 90’s.
Being a smaller name coming into a major company can make or break a career, and hopefully Wardlow becomes a star for years to come for the up and coming promotion. He will certainly bring something new to the table, adding more variety to All Elite Wrestling. No word on when he’s going to debut, we just know it’ll be soon.
