When Rhea Ripley led her team against Shayna Baszler’s team in the first-ever women’s WarGames match, it was no hot take to think it’d be a crazy battle. But I don’t think anyone truly expected what we saw in that match.
After Mia Yim was taken out earlier in the night, Dakota Kai was subbed in – only to immediately turn on the group as soon as her time came, and she viciously assaulted and injured her own best friend Tegan Nox in the process! This left Team Ripley with a staggering 4 on 2 disadvantage going into the now unnamed Match Beyond!
The match saw true spectacle, including an insane Top Rope Poison Rana from Candice LaRae to Kay Lee Ray, and an amazing moonsault off the top of the cage from Io Shirai!
But shockingly, the babyfaces prevailed in the end, as Rhea Ripley handcuffed herself to Shayna in a unique means of escaping the Kirifuda Clutch. She turned this into her finisher, Riptide, hit onto the seats of two sat-up chairs! This was enough to finish off the NXT Women’s Champion and get a huge upset win!
