Ladies and gentlemen, whether you realize it or not, we are at the precipice of a three-day weekend of pro wrestling PPVs. Of course WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2019 is this Sunday. But that’s not even close to all. The National Wrestling Alliance, which really came out of the woodwork to impress a lot of people in the fall of 2019, are returning to PPV for the first time in April tomorrow night, with their event, Into The Fire. And if that’s not enough, tonight, Ring of Honor is putting on what is nominally their biggest event of the year, the WrestleMania-equivalent if you weel, ROH Final Battle 2019!
It’s the latter that I’ll be discussing right now, as we have ten matches to look into! So let’s not waste any more time.
Maria Manic vs. Angelina Love
So uh… ROH’s women’s division, eh? It’s been a cause of much derision and controversy. Many have even felt that Ring of Honor never really wanted a women’s division in the first place, but felt pressured to do so as you don’t feel like a particularly modern pro wrestling company in America without one in this day and age.
All the same, we have a new addition here in Maria Manic. Maria is actually the girlfriend of Teddy Hart, another magnet for controversy anywhere he goes. She takes on Angelina Love of the Allure, a Beautiful People riff that have collectively made up the main heel force in the division for the majority of the year.
The ROH Women’s title is of course vacant as of now, with champion Kelly Klein being fired to much news coverage. This being the sole women’s match on the card, one would therefore think the winner here is the likely next champion. They may even announce moments beforehand that the title is in fact on the line, who knows? But I’m picking Maria Manic to debut with a victory.
ROH Final Battle 2019 airs tonight on iPPV, 7PM CT.
