Ladies and gentlemen it is now 2020, New Year’s Day! But more importantly it’s Wednesday, which means WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite tonight! Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here, to give you the previews for everything All Elite as usual~! It’s a special night of course, AEW Homecoming, and they’ve perhaps stacked tonight’s card more than ever before for the occasion! There’s plenty to talk about, so let’s dive into the previews!
Trent vs. Jon Moxley
Jon Moxley is of course on a big run as we speak. After defeating Kenny Omega at AEW Full Gear and going on to win yet more key matches against the likes of Darby Allin and Joey Janela, he’s on as big a roll as anybody in AEW and has made his intent clear to go after AEW World Champion Chris Jericho

But with nothing officially announced yet, he certainly can’t afford any upsets. This would definitely be one, but is not outside the realm of possibility. Trent is part of a really good tag team and a fine act in general in the Best Friends, but it seems like they’re looking at him as a guy that can break out on his own at some point. (It helps that Orange Cassidy is around to perhaps team with Chuckie T instead, when and if Trent decides to go full time into a singles career.)
It’s no surprise then that he’s getting another very big opportunity in one-on-one action here tonight. Mox has made a habit of lightning quick victories, owning the two fastest wins in AEW’s short history. But I wouldn’t expect that to go down here, Trent should be more than capable of putting up a fine fight for the unorthodox brawler. Still, obviously you gotta go with the man who, officially or no, is considered the No. 1 Contender to the world title by practically everyone. Moxley over.
