At the Royal Rumble, we saw the return of Naomi to a great reaction from fans. She had been gone for several months due to personal issues, but exploded back onto the scene in a way that only she could. Sporting her usual bright attire and a gorgeous afro, she was certain to get as much attention as usual. Her return was bigger than anything we could have expected though. She caught the eyes of people who aren’t typically into WWE through Twitter.
Naomi’s Return Went Viral
As most fans do, they would post Naomi’s return to Twitter out of excitement in having her back on screens as she showcased exactly why she was missed. These tweets would leak out of wrestling twitter, and get some serious attention. A video of her return from a fan account is already over 1.2 million views with a lot of non-fans and past fans wondering who Naomi is so they can tune in to watch her. Twitter user @MahiaSinn said “Y’all gonna make me start watching wrestling because I am obsessed with whoever this is” in a tweet which would garner 102k likes. She was just one of many people who are potentially being drawn into WWE and wrestling as whole. A scroll through that users Twitter shows that they have dove in head first to both WWE & AEW.
WWE Needs To Push Naomi
This shows that Naomi is potentially a mega star that could explode. She could be someone who can bring in many fans to WWE if given the proper attention. She is a dynamic performer, and a former 2x Smackdown Women’s Champion. With Bayley not having an opponent for Wrestlemania yet, this would be the perfect time to focus on Naomi and make her a star. She would be a fresh face at the top of the card, something which WWE is lacking at the moment. She is riding a wave of momentum, and it would be a shame to see it wasted. Not to mention, they could do amazing things with her entrance at Wrestlemania. They did a great job in the past of this, but there is no reason they wouldn’t be able to go even bigger.
