The New Beginning series takes a look at both New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) New Beginning tours taking place in Japan and the United States.

On January 28th, the Road to the New Beginning tour heads to the Nices Arena in the Akita Prefecture, where Gabriel Kidd will continue his quest as a Young Lion and face Yota Tsuji, who has spent several years in the New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) Tokyo Dojo.

Tiger Mask IV and NJPW Tokyo Dojo Young Lion Yuya Uemura, who seems to be the veterans’ protege meet former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions El Phantasmo and Taiji Ishimori. During the Super Junior Tag League 2019 on October 19th, Phantasmo and Ishimori defeated their opponents in 11:36. This will be a test to see how much Uemura has grown over the past few months.

The third match will see former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Great Bash Heel (G.B.H) [Tomoaki Honma/Togi Makabe] will face Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Manabu Nakanishi, who is set to retire on February 22nd.

Later in the night, NEVER Openweight Champion Hirooki Goto and Tomohiro Ishii from CHAOS team with Ryusuke Taguchi against Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) members Bushi, Evil, and Shingo Takagi.

On February first at The New Beginning In Hokkaido, Ishii faces Evil in one of two co-headlining matches while Takagi challenges Goto in his v1 defense of the NEVER Openweight Championship is the marquee main event.

The headline and marquee match of the second-night of The New Beginning In Hokkaido on February 2nd take front during the headline match of the January 28th event. CHAOS (Robbie Eagles/Will Ospreay/Kazuchika Okada) face the Suzuki-Gun team of Douki, RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr (ZSJ), and Taichi.

Osprey challenges ZSJ for the RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship on the 2nd, with Taichi and Okada meeting in a ‘Special Singles Match’ in the marquee.

The marquee on the 28th highlights one of the headline matches from The New Beginning In Osaka along with the marquee from that event as LIJ (IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi, Sanada, and ‘Double Champion’ (IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental Champion) Tetsuya Naito) face Bullet Club members Gedo, Jay White, and KENTA.

Sanada will face Jay White on February 9th in Osaka, while KENTA challenges Naito for the ‘Double Championship’ in the marquee on the same night.
