As the decades changed, so did the lives of Andrade & Charlotte Flair. They got engaged on January 1st, 2020, after having dated for close to a year. As soon as this news broke, fans have been interested in seeing them on-screen as a couple. They are two of the most talented wrestlers in the entirety of WWE, and fans always love to see mixed matches. Intergender Wrestling is something WWE rarely touches, but the fan reaction to previous tournaments like Mixed Match Challenge shows that fans are interested. A team of Andrade & Charlotte would trump most possible duos in terms of skill, but it will be a while before we see this materialize on screen.
“I think right now is a super important time in his career”
Speaking to Metro.co.uk just hours before WWE celebrates its launch on BT Sport, Charlotte Flair spoke on this situation. She said: ‘So, for Andrade right now, the focus is having the US championship, and his bond with Zelina is so strong. I think the two of us having separate storylines and not being together on camera is probably for the best right now. Definitely later down the road, we’re open to the idea of a mixed tag or doing something together. But I think right now is a super important time in his career, and I wouldn’t want to interfere with how well Zelina and Manny work together.’
The partnership with Zelina Vega as his onscreen manager has propelled Andrade to winning the NXT Championship, and now the United States Championship. While they have teased a breakup in the past, WWE would be fools to separate the duo. While a duo of Charlotte & Andrade would really get fans excited, it simply is not the right time. Until that time, you can easily keep up their their relationship through social media, as they aren’t trying to hide it.
If WWE ever does a third installment of Mixed Match Challenge, Andrade & Charlotte would make an incredible team, as would Zelina Vega and her husband, Aleister Black. That could be a very interesting match WWE could build a few years down the line in general.
