It’s that time of the week again… time for the Wednesday Night Wars to grace us once again! All Elite Wrestling brings us another episode of AEW Dynamite! A few days out from AEW Revolution, tonight the show goes past AEW Dynamite proper! In the hour following it, we have the Countdown To Revolution before us! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer, and as always, you can expect a full coverage of tonight’s show. That means results and recaps from every segment as soon as they conclude, plus a preview of what’s on tap this evening! Let’s get to it!
Special 1-Hour Countdown To Revolution To Air After AEW Dynamite Tonight
This one is exactly what it says on the tin and I’m not sure a recap of this would really be apt, but it is worth discussing since it’s a pretty cool move on TNT’s part. They had previously done something similar for AEW All Out, airing a series of clips from the Road To specials that had been airing on YouTube. But this one looks to be much more comprehensive, and has the boost of having AEW Dynamite itself as the lead-in. It will almost act as a sort of third hour for the show, and allows them to have an action-packed night without being bogged down with incessant plugs and video packages. This fulfills that role instead.
One can assume we’ll be seeing some keen video packages, plus plenty of exclusive interviews on the major matches set for AEW Revolution. And considering there’s still room on this card for another match or two, maybe the special will even have an announcement of it’s own? I’m not really sure. But it is notable that we still don’t have a match announced for the Buy-In yet. I’ve been thinking that Yuka Sakazaki vs. Britt Baker would make a lot of sense for a Buy-In match, Yuka surely has to try and get revenge for her teeth being knocked out at some point. But whether she’s available Saturday or not, I don’t know. She’s not one who appears for AEW very often, thanks largely to her frequent dates in Japan.
Failing that, SCU vs. some combination of the Dark Order, either in Tag or Trios would be a very logical match, and might even make the main card. This announcement wouldn’t surprise me at all. Perhaps we could even find out the identity of the Exalted One at Revolution…
