WWE Friday Night SmackDown continues with the last advertised match of the evening here, Carmella taking on Naomi where the winner will go after Bayley. But first, Sheamus has a creepy promo talking about how he wants to destroy all the rats and vermin, in the biggest rat trap of all in the Elimination Chamber. Shorty G and Apollo Crews are backstage talking about how embarrassing last week was. Shorty wants to talk him up but Apollo says he doesn’t need his peptalk. They’ll both handle this their own ways.
Carmella vs. Naomi (Winner faces Bayley for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship at Super Show-Down)
Naomi with a side headlock takeover. Carmella fights out, hits the ropes, Nao leap frogs, dropkick takes her out. Mella-Go-Round sends Nao flying. Springboard Crossbody from Naomi gets a quick 2 count. She goes up top, Bayley on the apron to distract. Carmella takes advantage with a Stratosphere for a nearfall! The referee spots Bayley bickering with Nao on the outside and ejects! Bayley yells as she has to back up the ramp. Carmella gets Naomi with a suicide dive. Commercial break.
We come back to see Carmella getting Naomi with a backbreaker. Nao fights back, uses some Speedball Kicks but Carmella stops that with a clothesline. They fight from their knees with forearms. Nao wants a bodyslam but Carmella counters with an Edge-O-Matic for a 2 count. Naomi with a Jawbreaker, Disaster Kick doesn’t really make contact but Carmella stumbles to the outside, Naomi gets her with a Corkscrew Tope! Throws her into the ring and covers for a nearfall!
Carmella evades a charge in the corner, goes up top, crossbody for a 2 count. Naomi on the apron, WWE Headkick, sunset flip for a 2 count. Rolls her up for a 2 count, jackknife attempted but Carmella reverses this into the Cone Of Silence! Nao escapes to the bottom rope for the break. Superkick blocked, Naomi with a knee to the face, Rear View nailed for a nearfall! Nao wants her Split-Legged Moonsault but Carmella pulls her down to the mat, thrust kick for a nearfall! Naomi kicks her away, up top for a rather sloppy Blockbuster. Split-Legged Moonsault for the win!
Winner: Naomi
So it turns out she is challenging for the title at Super Show-Down after all and this whole thing with Carmella was just to try and muddy things.
