WWE Monday Night Raw continues, less than hour left now after the Sermon did not go Rollins’ way just now. Backstage, Interviewer Girl #1 comes up to let Rollins know that him and his group just got run out of the ring. Rollins mocks her for the breaking news and says if Owens and the Viking Raiders want a fight, they’ll get one tonight, a six-man tag team match between them and Buddy Murphy & AOP. Now, out come the OC – Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows and the returning AJ Styles!
Styles is coming off an injury that’s kept him out of action since the Rumble match. Crowd greets him with a “Welcome Back” chant and AJ asks what WrestleMania would be without him. Anderson and Gallows put him over, saying nobody is a bigger performer at WrestleMania. He would even go so far as to call him the new Mr. WrestleMania. AJ says that’s the sweetest thing he’s ever heard and wipes a tear from his eye. Styles goes on a tangent on how great he is, says he’s the best competitor on any roster, the best wrestler anywhere, of any era!
AJ notably asks “Who’s next?” as he lists off a number of potential opponents, no matter who it might be who gets the WWE Championship, he’ll take them on at Mania. Rattles off Brock Lesnar, Ricochet, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Diesel, Razor Ramon and many others.
Ricochet interrupts.
AJ laughs, says he was just being nice by even bringing up his name, says nobody actually thinks he can become WWE Champion. Ricochet says no matter what anyone thinks, he will win the title. The OC laugh at this. Ricochet challenges AJ to a match right here and right now. Anderson and AJ respond with several whoas. Anderson says there’s no way he can let AJ’s first match back be against this non-good brother. And since he’s basically the toughest man in the building, he’ll accept his challenge.
Karl Anderson vs. Ricochet
Anderson wtih a boot to the gut, clobbering shot to the back, whips him, Ricochet rolls over the back, handspring headscissor, standing dropkick takes him to the outside! Hits the ropes, Tope Con Hilo! Commercial break, match continues in the inset. Ricochet throws Anderson in the ring, but gets clotheslined to the outside where Styles clips him with a clothesline. The ref didn’t see it but knows it happened well enough that he ejects AJ and Gallows! Anderson continues pummeling Ricochet regardless. Back Suplex for a 2 count. Continues to work him over, Jawbreaker for another 2 count.
We come back in time to see Ricochet get a few two counts off of cradles and roll-ups. Anderson with another clothesline, cover for 2, side headlock cinched in. Ricochet with a back elbow off a charge, running dropkick! Catches a shot and sends it back. Anderson with a whip but Ric with a charging forearm! Shoulder thrust to the gut of Anderson, slams his face against the turnbuckle! Standing Shooting Star for a nearfall! Goes up top, wants the 630, Anderson evades it, Ric rolls through, Anderson takes him down with a Spinebuster! Wants a suplex but Ric lands on the back of it, superkick! Hoists him onto his shoulders, Detonation Kick for the win!
Winner: Ricochet
New finisher for Ricochet, it kinda suits him.
