It’s Tuesday! And for all you YouTubing wrestling fans, that means another episode of AEW Dark goes up today! Tag team action will see the Stronghearts go up against the Dark Order! My name is Jordan Huie, you are visiting us here at the Overtimer where as always you can expect the full coverage of tonight’s show! That means recaps and results from every match as they come, plus in-depth previews for each bout on the card as well! So let’s not waste any time getting to it!
The Dark Order (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson) vs. The Stronghearts (CIMA & T-Hawk)
Sorta funny that in the battle royal with a tag title shot on the line, Alex Reynolds and John Silver represented the Dark Order whilst Uno and Grayson instead work a match on Dark filmed that same night. Also some double duty from the Stronghearts going on, though neither of them were in the battle royal for that long. And it’s nice to be able to see a fair bit of them on the rare occasion that T-Hawk gets to show up. Guy’s pretty great, and chest-ripping-chopper is a role that AEW otherwise has unfilled without him.
We’ll see how they fare against the Dark Order, a team that always has a presence but doesn’t step into the ring quite as often as most other tandems. This is presumably to give them more of a mystique. Personally I always felt it’d be a better idea to make sure more people knew how talented they were, as they sometimes struggle to be respected or taken seriously. But I can get wanting to make elusiveness part of their thing as well. Either way, this should be a really good one.
With each passing day, we are of course coming closer and closer to the reveal of the Exalted One, the secretive, shadowy mastermind behind the giant cult. Teases have gotten more and more plentiful with each week and while they haven’t stated anything official yet, it’s pretty clear that we’ll be seeing the Exalted One in the flesh before too long. There’s a plethora of names it could be, and it’d be particularly interesting if they announced that his identity would be revealed on the Dynamite after Revolution because that just so happens to be the first date Matt Hardy could appear for them after his contract expires March 1st. But it also wouldn’t be at all out of the question for the Exalted One to appear at Revolution instead…
All that said, the Dark Order is gonna keep building momentum until that reveal happens. Dark Order over.
