This is a feud which has gotten very serious very fast. It all began with Roderick Strong defeating Velveteen Dream for the NXT North American Championship in late 2019. The following week, The Undisputed Era would try and take out Dream for good. They would be able to remove him from the equation for months.
A few weeks back however, we would see Velveteen Dream return and take the fight to Undisputed Era again as he came to help Tomasso Ciampa from a beatdown. He would especially focus in on Roderick Strong, and that was the start of the mindgames.
Dream knows that Roderick Strong is not an easy man to defeat in the ring, so he took some extra steps in mental warfare. He has been adorning his trunks with the face of Strongs wife and son, and challenging his pride as a man and a father on social media.
Velveteen Dream defeats Roderick Strong
It was a very heated main event, as the animosity between these two individuals would finally come to a head. They would exchange heavy blows, and Dream would attempt to beat Strong with his belt before the referee removed it from the ring. Strong would come back with some heavy chops and some backbreakers to gain the advantage.
They would continue to have a back and forth clash in the ring, and things would escalate near the end as we would see Dream remove his bodysuit to reveal tights with Marina Shaffir on the back of them. Undisputed Era would storm the ring, and Dream would dive out to take them all out. He would get back into the ring, and after a sneaky rollup he would pin Roderick Strong for the victory.
Undisputed Era Get The Last Laugh
Following his victory, Dream wouldn’t get any time to celebrate as Undisputed Era would attack and beat down Dream. The show would close with Undisputed Era proudly posing above Dream.
This was just a battle in a bigger war. Ciampa had recently fought Undisputed Era, and now Dream will have to do the same. This ending has lead many to believe that it will be Velveteen Dream who faces Adam Cold at NXT Takeover Tampa, and perhaps the one who finally beats Cole for the NXT Championship.
