As Wrestlemania gets near, everyone in WWE is angling for a match at the event. This will even include legends like Trish Stratus, who has teased an encounter with Sasha Banks. This is an encounter which falls under the category of dream match for many fans, as they have never met outside of the Royal Rumble. A major singles match at Wrestlemania would be a highlight of the show, as Sasha is one of the best in the world and Trish is a legend.
Trish Stratus Celebrating 20 Years Of Stratusfaction
In a tweet celebrating the 20th anniversary of her career, there was only one frame in the short video which people focused on. This was a quick image of Sasha Banks and her facing off. Trish technically retired back at Summerslam 2019, where she faced Charlotte Flair in a fantastic match. Retirements rarely stick in wrestling, and both Sasha & Trish have been vocal about wanting to face each other in the past. Could this dream match be something that will soon be reality?
Sasha Banks Needs A Path To Wrestlemania
A poorly timed injury to Sasha would put her on the shelf at the most important time of the year for WWE. With rumors she will be back soon, there is no reason she can’t enter a feud with a legend like Trish. Her fan base is eager to see her face Bayley at Wrestlemania for the Smackdown Women’s Championship, but beating Trish would be bigger than a title win.
While Wrestlemania is close, the card is still sparse with confirmed matches, so having a spotlight match like this for the past and future of your women’s division would hardly be a bad idea. Sasha will get to prove that she is better than those who came before her, and Trish will be able to not have her final match at Wrestlemania involve Snooki from Jersey Shore. While ending your career to a huge ovation in your home country after a classic with Charlotte Flair is a great way to close it out, it wasn’t Wrestlemania.
