One of the premiere talents for NXT in 2020 will be the towering Dominic Dijakovic. Last week, he made it clear that he wants to face Keith Lee for the NXT North American Championship at NXT Takeover Portland. He would go on to defeat Damian Priest in dominant fashion, but this wouldn’t be enough to get that title shot that he wanted. It would take another victory to earn his way there, and after an encounter with The Beast From Belfast in the Performance Center earlier in the day, he had a match where he could get that next victory.
Dominic Dijakovic Defeats Killian Dain
In a short but very hard hitting contest, we would see two powerhouses clash. Both also possess crazy agility. Dain came in with a clear power advantage, but Dijakovic was practically running circles around him. He would take Dain out in under 5 minutes with Feast Your Eyes, making it yet another dominant victory for the Croatian superstar.
North American Championship Match Confirmed For Takeover
Following the victory over Dain, it was announced that Djiakovic would be facing Keith Lee at NXT Takeover Portland. He got the match he, and all the fans have been craving. Dijakovic and Lee have been rivals since before they even joined NXT, with their matches in Pro Wrestling Guerilla really putting them on the radar of wrestling fans everywhere. They have clashed a few times on NXT TV, but they have never hit the peaks they did in the past. It was almost like they were saving that extra gear for a bigger stage. NXT Takeover Portland should be that stage as they look to add to the already storied legacy of the NXT North American Championship.
Keith Lee would join Dijakovic on the stage, and they would exchange some words before shaking hands. They will be leaving it all in the ring at Takeover, and truly will find out who is best. With how much momentum Lee has been able to gain recently, it will be near impossible to stop him, but no one has a better shot.
