Randy Orton has snapped once again. On the night after the Royal Rumble, he would launch a vicious attack on the returning Edge after teasing a reunion of Rated RKO. Attacking the neck of the man who had just came back from what many believed to be a career ending neck injury is the type of focused yet psychopathic attack that Orton is known for.
His next victim would be Matt Hardy, who came out to ask for answers from Randy Orton on why attacked Edge in such a brutal manner, only for Hardy to suffer the same fate. This past Monday, another vicious attack to Hardy has written him off TV until his WWE contract expires in early March.
With WWE saving Edges return attack on Orton for a date closer to Wrestlemania, Orton is going to need another victim to feud with. Is it time for Christian to return to WWE to defend two fallen friends honor?
Doesn’t Have To Be One More Match
Prior to his quiet retirement, Christian hit his peak in WWE in 2011 when he entered a feud with Randy Orton over the World Heavyweight Championship. It is a high point of both mens WWE careers, and resulted in some fantastic matches. It also showed just how good of chemistry the two have. While Christian might not get into the ring for another match, we could see him be the next to confront Randy Orton to ask for answers on why he viciously attacked both Edge & Matt Hardy.
Christian Would Suffer The Same Fate
He would likely suffer the same fate as Hardy & Edge, or they could use his beatdown as a chance to prompt Edge to return to get his comeuppance against Orton. This would give fans a chance to see Captain Charisma on their screens, without risking damage to someone who retired due to concussion related injuries. Christian is just the next person who makes sense to fill this role as the feud rolls on, as he was Edge’s best friend for much of his career.
