With Blood & Guts no longer set for AEW Dynamite next week, they are rebooking the card on the fly. With a meeting between Chris Jericho & Matt Hardy already planned, and the parking lot brawl between Lucha Bros & Best Friends likely still on, we have another match announced for the next episode. We will see ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes face ‘The King Of Goths’ Jimmy Havoc.
Jimmy Havoc Will Likely Get Help From Inner Circle or MJF
With this being the biggest match in the AEW career of Jimmy Havoc, he can take a breath knowing that he might have outside help. Cody has made enemies in his time in AEW, with The Inner Circle looking to remove the elite, and past beef with people like MJF & Shawn Spears. Combine this with his understated in ring ability and we could see Jimmy Havoc get the biggest win of his career. He has been relegated to AEW Dark as of late, embroiled in a feud with Japanese Death Match legend, Luther. They have not clashed yet, and that could have been placed on hold with the current situation.
Cody Rhodes & The Elite Need To Build Momentum
The postponing of Blood & Guts is a chance for The Elite to regroup and get ready for war. They now know that The Inner Circle will have the advantage in the match, and they are teaming with Matt Hardy for the first time as Nick Jackson is out of commission. They need to use their time wisely to become a cohesive unit to stand a chance against The Inner Circle. Cody getting a win over Havoc would be a good start to this, and we could also see some tag team action from Page & Omega this week.
This should hopefully happen this Wednesday, but it is important to remember everything is day by day right now. City wide restrictions are coming into play, and that could easily disrupt any plans a company like AEW has. They have been safe in their approach towards AEW, and are using an arena owned by the Khan family, but should the city shut down; they must obey.
